I ended up as a double bigfoot. Looks like things change each time you post in a forum that counts until you reach the level set for your level of posts. If that makes any sense.

Pretty much what Rabbi said. Your title is accurate, while your group is limited in that it starts out at the bottom and goes up one time a post until it reaches the right level. (At least that's what I gathered.)

The ranks definitely have a lot more character than they used to. I have no complaints regarding the forums as of yet. They're easier to use than ever before, and just so gosh-darn pleasant to look at.
