I haven't had a chance to see the fashion show yet, because I never make it on friday, but I think there's a chance I might be able to in 2011.
I've noticed that they need volunteers for modelin, hair, and makeup. Now, I don't know about modeling, but I'm pretty good at hair and makeup, and I'm somewhat familiar with the japanese styles presented in the show.
I am in no way a professional, but I'm open to new fashions and ideas, and I'm pretty good at it for a high schooler.
Is this what they're looking for in a volunteer, or are they looking for proffesionals?
Also: Do I have to provide my own materials? (owning enough foundation for any given person I'd do makeup on is EXPENSIVE)

I've been a model in the fashion show for two years now and I can tell you that it is tons of fun!

This year I provided my own foundation/mascara because my donators makeup stylist requested the models to bring their own for hygiene purposes (and yes foundation IS expensive x___x) and if you do get on board to do makeup you can request the same. They are very flexible but you would need to apply. For 2011 I'd let everyone breathe for a bit and when there is more info for the next show (that will definitely be announced on the forums) I would apply then. You can also try contacting Janet (WiredKittie) if you want to ask more questions. I'm sure she'd be happy to help you out.

Personally, I think I feel the most comfortable with lolita hair and makeup. However, I feel that fashion is all about stepping OUT of your comfort zone, and I'd love to try some of the other styles (I have a year to practice)

I am the Assistant Director of the fashion show and I can tell you we need always need a helping hand! For make up we prefer some one with a back round on it but, if you could do something on yourself and send me and email I would love to give you some tips.

I would love to me a model for this, that is if I can make it there due to work and having spare vacation time. I have modeled before (modeling every January for "Now and Forever Bridal" during the local Wedding Extravaganza that we have here) and would love to have another crack at it with you guys! What does it take to be a model for the 2011 show?

it's not Hellish. Most sewing is done long before the event, however sometimes finishing may happen the day of, though - it's rare. I love the fashion show and I'm currently working on my designs for '11!!!

[/b][/color]1: with my new set up, I am able to set up the camera to photograph the stage remotely and or in timed intervals...
some really cool stuff btw

Does anybody know around when they post the application for the modeling? I check every single day because I've really wanted to do it the past 3 years, but I haven't been picked. I thought if I got my application in right away this year, I'd have a better chance.
