You simply must see Laputa. I'd even go so far as to recomend the Disney dub. Mark Hamill does a great job as the bad guy and the story is quite amazing. You'll notice it's shadows written across pop culture if you look closely enough. (The Sonic games for instance, owe a lot to Laputa).

Obviously see any anime movies attached to shows you enjoy. But don't bother watching without the shows. Full Metal Alchemist had an "eh, it's okay" movie, but it's useless to watch without context from the series. Trigun has one coming out later this year and then there's Haruhi which holds the distinction of being the longest animated feature ever made.

If of course you wish to skip the "series then movie" route, you can always watch the Evangelion Rebuild movies. We only have the first 2 out of 4 right now, but the animation looks stunning in these reworkings of the original show and if you're going to watch 26 episodes, you may aswell just watch 4 movies instead.

But my number one suggestion will go to Tokyo Godfathers. It never gets a lot of publicity and the movie is absoloutely beautiful. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=7Q6mcx2qF4Q watch the trailer. It's such a moving picture.

I enjoyed it though some say the manga was bette than the series, which was better than the movie.

As long as you watch the original dub, I suggest Yu Yu Hakusho the movie, I was surprised how good it was.

Summer Wars: I enjoyed watching it. If you are the kind of person who likes virtual worlds, you will love this movie.

Origin Spirits of the Past: Watched this at a anime club. The music is pretty and I love the graphic.
