Hi guys! Jessie your neighborhood friendly Hallway Contest Master here to let you know that Anime Central is the Midwestern Regional Qualifier for the Yume Cup preliminaries this year!
THE OVERVIEW
Begun in 2009, the Yume Cosplay Prize is a unique North American cosplay competition with its finals set in the fashion capital of the world – New York City.
The Yume Cosplay Prize is a fair, transparent competition between cosplay teams of two in the categories of craftsmanship and stage performance, with the winning team taking home a prize that is nothing short of a dream come true – a trip to Tokyo, Japan.
And as “yume” is the Japanese word for dream, it is only fitting to name this competition the “Yume Cosplay Prize”.
Now, we’d like for you to become part of the dream as well…
THE BIG PRIZE
The Yume Cosplay Prize awarded to the final winners is a week-long trip to Tokyo, Japan. This trip consists of…
* Two economy-class tickets to and from Japan
* A five-night-stay in a double room in a Tokyo hotel
* Two VIP tickets to the Tokyo Anime Fair’s Public Days
* $1,000 to spend while in Japan
Various additional prizes are awarded to runners up.

* Travel to and from NYC for the winners of the Anime Central Yume Cosplay Preliminary Round
* Hotel rooms for the winners of our Yume Cosplay Preliminary Round during the 2010 NYAF
* Entry into the final competition for the chance to win a trip to Japan
Rules
Among our Masquerade participants, the highest scoring team that meets the below rules will be crowned as a Yume Cosplay Prize Regional winner…

Okay, here is the deal.
The regionals are going to be based on craftsmanship ONLY not performance. You can get judges during the Hallway Contest or if you are already in the masquerade, tell the craftsmanship judges and they will judges you on Yume.
YOU CANNOT COMPETE IN THE HALLWAY WITH A YUME ENTRANT COSTUME.
You CAN, however, compete in a costume that has previously won an award in the Hallway BUT NOT THE MASQUERADE.
Please let me know if you have anymore questions.

The Hallway room is nearly a vessel in which you can enter, the Hallway Contest and the Yume contest are two different contests. You may not enter your Hallway costume in Yume. It's one or the other.
