I was just browsing animecons.com and saw ACen 2011 will be the third weekend in May and ACen 2012 will be the last weekend in April! Are these accurate? Here's the link I found it at.. http://www.animecons...info.shtml/1777

Is there any reason to the changes? Finals? Mother's Day? THE END OF THE WORLD?

It won't be all that bad cause I remember when I began going to Acen it was in April and not in May. That was 2002 I believe it was the 3rd weekend of April...ugh too long ago to remember but I do know it was in April. That'll be nice change and hopefully less conflict for the college students as this won't be around finals for the bulk of universities in northern IL.

I've only been going since 2004 so I'm used to the second weekend of May (although we had the 5-7 once, I remember). Now I have to think of a new excuse to get off of work since Mother's Day wouldn't be acceptable.. xT

2012 will be the only ACen that I've attended that will be before my birthday. Luckily it'll be before my 22nd birthday and not my 21st. lol But it's 3 days before it!!! ><

I have potentially a personal thing going on during the Mother's Day weekend of May 2011. I know that Acen has fallen on Mom Day in the past and I'd hate for my friends and I to miss Acen, so I was wondering if there were any tentative or finalized dates for 2011 at this time that I could try to plan around.

You know, these days may work for me (should) depending on my school schedule...wherever I get a job at. It just means i'll have to request friday off...or go after friday. People have taken days off for sporting events, so why not a convention?

I could I suppose. Not as much as I brought this year though. That was WAY too much.

Yes I am worried about the weather too, but it can not be helped & I knew it's because they draw straws for time slots. Any one remember the year we had to share with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer con & the Optometrist con?

Hey, I may be able to get one more paycheck in before the con in 2011. Awesome. ^^ Just hopefully my college graduation (since my goal is to graduate next spring) won't fall on that weekend.

2012...it'll be a week or two after my 23rd birthday. Birthday money will go towards the dealer's room instead of birthday gifts - that works. ^^
