This is my first con and, instead of cosplaying, I'm going to make these message shirts that people can sign if the message applies to them (ex: if the shirt says "first time con goer", everyone who is a first time con goer can sign the shirt).

My question is that one of my shirts is going to say "Yaoi Fangirl and Proud of It!" and I just read in the rules that everything need to be at a PG-13 level. Is the shirt going to be a problem? If so, I'll change the message.

Also, I'm going to arrive in Rosemont on Friday and I need to know what time everything is going to start because I want to be there for the opening ceremonies.

I don't see a problem with the shirt idea and I think it's a neat idea :)

Reg opens at 8am and i think ceremonies are 10? Would need someone from that dept to verify though.

They sell shirts that say things like

YAOI

"w00t! Yaoi!"

[boycharactername] X [boycharactername]

in the Dealer's hall, and people tend to wear them at-con after purchasing them so I don't logically see why not; however I'd like to see the answer on this one as well.

This is by no means official, but I don't see how it'd be a problem. While yaoi itself is an explicit genre, the mere word "yaoi" on its own isn't above PG-13. Not to mention American BL fandom has kind of contorted the word to mean any boy/boy pairings.

Also cool idea~!
South Korea likes breasts.
Ukraine has breasts.
She has them in spades.
If South Korea and Ukraine were to hook up...
Then South Korea would never have a shortage of breasts ever again.

Bad news everyone :(

I tried to make the shirts today and because of either the shirts I got or the iron-on letters (I'm not sure which), I wasn't able to get the letter to stay on the shirts. So instead of spending more money to try again (and since we're so close to the con), I've decided to go with my back up-plan and wear the outfits that I choose just incase I wasn't able to get the shirts done in time.

I really tried my best to make these shirts possible, but it just wasn't meant to be. I'll try again next year.

See you all at the con!

2 1/2 weeks to go!

Did you wash the t-shirts prior to trying iron-on? Sometimes new shirts will have weird chemical residues from the manufacturing process that
interferes with iron-ons.

Better luck next time!

Hmm...I wanna make a shirt...its for a battle at our school.

Wear a t-shirt with your favorite cartoon character or super hero and your team gets ice cream!!

I wanted to make a customized t-shirt with Joshua from TWEWY....love that guy, and stick a quote on the back of it.

One problem: I cant draw him....

Its going to be on a black t-shirt and...and remember being in florida...buying a t-shrt that they steamed on...(its still alive, its like its apart of the t-shirt). Im going to ask my orchestra t-shirt about getting a store about customizable t-shirts or something. Online buying is a no-no for me.

So uhhh....Ima make a url for the picture design...

Some helpful hints?
