We still have room in the department as some have not completed their form and the deadline is the end of this month. Those who haven't by then will be declared to have abandoned their staff slot. We will have at least 10 slots open at the end of this month.

Yes we allow staff to cosplay as long as it's g rated and non offensive cosplay. We encourage pirate costumes

I was thinking about pirating up my Flo costume and wear a hat and have a parrot on my shoulder. And when not on duty I'll wear my eyepatch and hook. :3
If you're gonna do pirate costumes, you may want to use both eyes if they both work, and both hands if they both work, while you're on duty. At least that's how I'm doing it

We had some people we hired not fill out the staff form. We're contacting them and if any are not actually on staff we will have a few open slots. You should fill out the application that's in the first post asap.

I somehow feel like a cosplay of Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann isn't quite G rated, but I don't watch enough films to be comfortably familiar with the rating system... should I buy a nude-colored bodysuit of some kind to cover my midriff? I'll be using some double-sided tape/body adhesive anyways to make sure nothing comes exposed unintentionally.

Hi I was interested on switching over to registration this year. Previously I have been on the exibit space staff and other departments before that. Due to other obligations I was not able to staff this year, but did drop by acen as a regular attendee. From the looks of things registration needed some help this year so I'm offering my services for acen 2012. Who would I need to talk to to switch departments?

We are pirates. We have a flag, a ship, and a large crew! ARRRR

3-4 hour long shifts once or twice a day.
Flexible hours - we will let you go see your favorite panel, event, etc. (as long as we aren't short on staff at the time and it's not excessive.)

Rooming is available but we will give priority to those who don't need a room. Rooms are staff only, you will be roomed with registration staff but attendees are not allowed in the room at any time.

Throughout the year we have parties and picnics. Staff are active!

We're looking for outgoing people with cashiering skills, data entry skills, and who are just all around awesome! If you don't have skills in cashiering or data entry we can teach you

Registration times for staff begin at 11am on Thursday with training at noon. If you make it to an office training session it begins at 3pm Thursday and ends 4pm Sunday.

You must be 18 and older to apply.

Why you want to become staff - (please give more than a few words This does have a baring on if we select you)

Will you be available from Thursday 11am to Sunday 4pm? - (For some we do accept Friday as we know it's sometimes hard to get off work for Thursday but we can only accept this for a handful of people since Thursday we need staff )

You could email them and ask if your application from previously could be considered for this coming year, or send a new one if you have any updated info/more you'd like to add. I was talking to Melinda (the new dept head of reg) and she mentioned not going through applications just yet, they're still wrapping up staffing from this past ACen. But they will still reply to emails if you want to ask them questions about it. Her name on the forum is Ever. good luck!
