I'm thinking of pitching a show called,"Tales from the night shift". Remember, you heard it here first.

well, considering the amount of weapons you DO have, I'm not surprised that they think that. Hell, I'D think that you had an arsenal equivalent to the one my grandfather had. Except maybe a bit more updated.
See me you may,
See me you not.
But see me you wont,

I think some of us need to look into that. Definitely 18+ though.

I wish, but do you know how hard it is to get a legitimate ballistic weapon in this city? However, it'll be easier soon. Already sent in my application for a FOID card.

I like the sound of that book, I would so buy it! I thought since people mentioned it, all the different little times of being accused of working some where or for the wrong company & even during the wrong time to ask for help. My best friends says, the longer you work in retail, the more you show a retail, walk & have a retail stench that draws people.

First retail job right out of high school at Target. Since My Mom worked at Walmart & her shift ended way after mine, I decided to walk to her job. There I am in my red & khaki uniform & my badge with...a target & some old lady ask me where the Isotoner slippers are? After I told her I didn't work there & that she would probably find them where ever the sock were, she gave me a dirty look, so I added," I work at Target, but I shop here." Then I pointed to my badge, she laughed & shook her head. I forgiver her, she was probably going senile.

I worked for American Greetings at my future disappointing & current Walmart job, for the next one. Back then, Walmart people had blue vest & I had a turquoise smock, more like an apron really. Now at this point I had only worked during the week a few days & had only just applied at Walmart. Though because it was a few weeks from Christmas, I had to come in on the weekend to straighten the cards. One of the head CSM's (people in charge of cashiers for those of you who have not worked there) ran up to me & said, "Oh great, I need you up front, we're swamped!" I said, "Excuse me, I don't have any cards up there." She looked at me like I had gills or some thing, then added, "I need you on register." I laughed & said, I only just applied, does this mean I got the job, because that was fast?" She still looked at me like I had tentacles or some thing. Finally she blew up at me, " Don't be funny, I just need you for a bit, to help clear up the lines." I laughed again, "I don't work here yet, I work for AG" She pointed at me & yelled some more, until I made her read my smock. Her face turned red & she stormed of muttering her self.

I only had a half an hour for lunch, being a smoker, that meant a mad dash to get food, buy it in long lines & eat while smoking out side in order to relax. ( I do realize how wrong that sounds, but it's true.) I was cursing the coolers & finally selecting a lunchable to tied me over & I hear the new guy say, "I'm new here why don't you ask her, she works here." I cringe, but hope to sneak off acting like I didn't here, no go. The lady & her Son kept saying Miss, over & over again. So I turn & say, "Excuse me I am in a hurry." She gives me the look of injustice & you shall pay, my your rude & says, but you work here & I need help. "So I say, I am off the clock & on a tiny lunch & can loose my job for even talking to her, not to mention I don't know this area well, other than what I buy, that she should try some one with a blue vest on, they are on the clock. "Oh, sorry, that man said you would help, I just need to find the so & so?" I hate it when they expect an answer any way. "So I say, I don't work over here, but my guess is it's so & so, but it could be a seasonal item, meaning they only have it for a Holiday. She still thanked me & I chewed out the new guy later on.

Once when I got off of work, I was shopping for my self & my roommate, I had a jacket on, so people wouldn't think I was working. ( I think it's the worse when some one knows you work there & your just shopping or getting a check on your day off & they ask you for help any way) My arms were loaded down with TP, food & cat stuff & still some one was yelling at me to help them. They huffed & puffed in my face & demanded I help them. I was angry so I said, "Why don't you find some one who works here, I am shopping & don't what your even talking about!" His face went purple & he mumbled an apology.

My roommate & I were shopping at our local Jewel. I was debating on what creamer I wanted for my coffee, when an elderly but nice gentle man asked us to help him find...I think it was sour cream. I had on a green jacket, & Acen shirt & a White Sox cap on, so How he could think that was beyond me. "I politely say, "I am sorry Sir, but I don't work here & have no idea, but it has to be near the creamers, so keep looking, " He apologizes & cracks up, because it ended up being right in front of him.

Here's one that I was told by one of my co-workers. This happened before I started last summer.

One day, a woman came to the shelter, carrying a cat. She said she'd come to relinquish it, as she could no longer care for it. Our front desk staff (as well as the co-worker who told me this story) told her, "We're very sorry, but we can't take her. We don't have the space." (Which was true - by the time I started in August, we were full to overflowing with both adult cats and kittens.) The lady was absolutely astounded, and demanded we take her cat. This went back and forth for a little while until she decided that we were obviously doing something wrong, and called the Lake County Sheriff. That's right, she believed that they would fix the problem and make us take her cat. While waiting for the cop to arrive, she argued with the staff some more, lacing creative swear words in between - oh, and this was when the lobby was full to the brim with visitors, as well.

A few minutes later, the cop car rolls up, and she stalks outside, leaving her cat on the counter. My co-worker followed her outside as the officer got out of his car. Now, this woman started railing at him about the injustice we were causing in not taking in her cat. My co-worker explained the situation, and that the cat was inside waiting in the lobby. The officer then turned to the lady. He told her, "This is a private establishment. Legally, if they can't take your animal because they don't have the space, then they can turn it away." "Well, fine, then I'll just leave her here." "Ma'am, it is illegal to abandon your animal. Animal Control is right up the road, you can try taking her there, but there is nothing else I can do." Well, this wasn't good enough for her, because she turned and started stalking right back to her car. The officer barked after her, "Ma'am, I just told you it is illegal to abandon your animal." And if that point didn't drive itself home, the way he said it did. She stormed back into the front lobby, snatched the cat off the counter, and snarled, "You call yourselves Save-A-Pet, but you won't save MY pet." And she stalked back out. Needless to say, the officer watched her leave and followed her.

OH. ONE OTHER LITTLE GEM.

This happened during my first month there. The lobby was absolutely packed, the cat room was swamped, and we were trying our best to help everyone while getting our work done.

Now, this one little boy in the lobby decided he was bored, and saw the fire alarm pull. From what witnesses said not long after, the boy turned to his dad and asked, "Dad, what does this do?" His dad got up and said, "Well, son, that calls the fire department when there's a fire or emergency, here, watch." And he pulled it.

You can't make this up. I wish I was. My manager had been doing an interview with a different family at the time and saw what happened, and had to rush into the cat room and offices to let us know there was no fire. Well, sure enough, the fire trucks and their entourage came rolling up - and the whole time, the dad was with his son saying, "See, there they are, coming to check to see if everything is okay." (Where is the mom in all this, you ask? Sitting off to the side, pretending she didn't exist.) Well, our lead staffers went out to meet the authorities and explained what had happened. When they came in, EVERYONE pointed at the dad and his son. The firemen asked the dad, in the kindest way I can depict on here, "What on earth were you thinking?"

Dad's response? "Well, my son wanted to know what the alarm pull was for, so I showed him."

Oh yeah. You can bet they weren't happy with that. He and his family were escorted out, and we got to sigh in relief that no one had panicked because of that idiot.

Yeah Save-A-Pet, I got bit by a large diabetic cat because I stopped petting him. He was so huge, i didn't think he could move that fast. All because I stopped petting him too. I love that room!

*lol* Yeah, a few of them are like that. I make it a point now to let people know which cats have a habit of doing that...and especially which ones are prone to being picky or temperamental about petting.

And yes, they can indeed move that fast. XD If anything has helped train my reaction times, it's that~

A friend of mine had a cat that was quietly purring in a corner one moment and trying to freight train me the next. Unfortunately, seeing a black blur coming at my face was enough for my ancient ancestors' instincts to surge to the fore from being buried in my DNA for millions of years.

I punched the cat.

I don't think my work story is funny or crazy like some of the others, mine just sucked.

[Note: I work share an office with two other people we'll call one N and one V]

So yesterday i was working at my desk and N called, she was dropping off her kid at school and told V to turn on the radio, and that "V will know what I mean." V apparently is dumber then i thought and could not work the Very simple radio, which some of the 4 year olds at my center can operate. So any who I set it up, yurn it on, and put it on the station she wanted...Just in time for the Dj to say that N, V, and my cousin each won a thousand dollars....now My cousin doesn't work in our office, but they decided to include HER in the contest instead of me, the one they work closest with....

Needless to say I was REALLY upset, and felt betrayed...especially sin N and V CONSTANTLY complain about my cousin...UGH...

but my gf [through texting] comforted/cheered me up, and I was able to partially move on...

So that's my sucky work story...

Wow. And she had you tell V to turn on the radio that everyone can hear? That's pretty low.

But at least now you know who goes where on the "work friends" list.

Some cats can be strange characters, i should know i have 6 :) 4 of which are rescues. One i have had for 3 years and is very affectionate to me and strangely one of my friends little girl who is 5. That kid can pick her up and carry her around and the cat just lets her, lol, its funny cause she is a petite 5 yr old and cat is like half as big as her :D
Though this same cat will hiss and try to claw my step mother when ever she is over for a visit, and i have no idea why.........

Cats surely have interesting personalities at time.

LOL wow! These stories are great. Hmm.. well.. I work at a nightclub on weekends and certain days during the week, if there's a special event.

My FIRST night dancing at this club, it was myself and a fellow gogo. As we were heading into the club, there's a *very* drunk woman outside, talking up some stuff to the bouncers. Hitting on him and stuff and then saunters into the club, before being stopped and instructed that she needs to pay to get in. Shocked and irritated, she responds with: "What?! Since when did you have to f*ckin pay for that??" (its a lot more vulgar, but I'll keep it tame lol) anyway, she paid and we were behind her and just walked in. After we had JUST got done changing into our outfits and were walking down the stairs. My partner all of a sudden; nearly drops her gym bag, her purse and her water bottle to cover her eyes. She's like "OHMAIGOSH!!!" And me.. being slow to respond until it's too late, I'm all like ".....Wut...huh??OHEMGEE!!"

Lo and behold from the 2nd floor of the club, we look down and THARSHEBLOWS!! The same drunk and belligerant lady from earlier...topless...dancing..drunk. My mouth hung open for a good while. The woman had to be as old as my mom..if not older.. she was probably one of those drunk rednecks you see on Jerry Springer. Hahaha!

I have a lot more tales to share, but those will be for another time. lol

I have stories from when I worked at Dominick's but some of them might call for health services to come in and shut em down.

Let's just say if there is something I give specific instructions for at the meat, deli, produce, bakery it's for a darn good reason. My eyes have seen some things that would make you toss your cookies.

This, I believe without a doubt. =/

If it's one thing that really makes me want to vomit; It's when people mess with my food.. or anyone else's. It's disgusting. >/
