So I literally just stumbled across this. I was wondering if anybody here has played this yet and if it's any good.

Its $9 for the updates of both FF 1 & 2. It's a little pricey for a app, but where I work at I can get it without ease. I may get it on friday. I never played the first one or the second one. Some dont like the first one, but I dont care : ) That's just me.

A part of me wants to get it because its an rpg style iPhone/ iPod Touch app that DOESN'T suck >.<;;; At the same time, I have a pile of rpgs at home that I have yet to finish, FF III for the GBA, FF XII and KH among them. >.<;;;;

$9 for both 1 and 2 seems fairly reasonable. At least imo. As long as the interface doesn't suck. The first game is great. Especially if you're a fan of the series, its good to see where the roots lie. No, its not super pretty, yes its more difficult than recent entries, but as far as early RPGs go, it was so far ahead of anything else for its time.

I guess it depends what you're looking for though. I mean some people just have no desire to even deal with older games. Games of old don't have anywhere near the budget that games today do and technology wasn't nearly as advanced so you have to deal with generally simpler graphics and gameplay. But that doesn't mean worse. In my opinion, the strategy involved in the first FF game was deeper than a lot of the more recent titles. The older games were designed with more of a hardcore audience in mind where a lot of the newer ones a more casual so you see a definite increase in difficulty as well as fewer save points. So like I said, depends what you want out of a video game.

i dunno if it would be as good as on the iProduct whatever as say a Game Boy Advance. You could get the FF 1&2 GBA game for around the same price as the app plus you can play it with real buttons on the game boy...
