Reg does not use gophers for setup though.
Gophers in the reg hall will never work a pay station or at a computer so if you're avoiding the work because you're nervous about those 2 things then don't worry

Also, there will be two, possibly three, gofers in my party to help out on Thursday this year, bright and early at 9 a.m.: Dorkling, UberSpook (unregistered as of the moment), and possibly one more.

If it's only 4 hours per day for a crash place that night, that means for Thursday you only need to work two. Is that right?
On Thursday, people can work as much as there is a workload. The sign-in means that a gopher who is available
for five hours straight can sign up for the whole five hours. Is there a limit to how many gophers can sign up for a certain
time slot?
I saw a few TBD [to be discussed. .right?] in some posts regarding the hours needed for a crash space. Is it now
officially 4 hours per day?
If I need the crash space on Friday, would I be able to sign up on the Friday time sheet on Thursday night for the hours on Friday?
How early is the time sheet for Friday and Saturday? [ I really do need the space and I didn't even notice this thread until today.
Unfortunately, I have plans on Friday and Saturday. I'm hoping to be able to compromise by working late at night or early in the morning
or in between. Would it be alright if I happen to be in cosplay and working for the hours? ]
I'm so sorry for all the questions. I'm panicking a bit inside right now because I been gophering for two years and it's kind of my
only place to crash for the con especially on Thursday. xD Giheghe~ How many people in a room by the way?

I hear a lot of departments had a great experience with their gofers and we thank you for all the help
I did notice (just a personal observation) that when a gofer was needed, they were nowhere to be found, but when gofers were not needed, they were all in the gofer hole LOL. I heard this come over the radio several times. Again, just a personal observation and it's fine, it just amused me a little. Newton's Law and all.

I was not able to put in much time this year, but I think for next year I will schedule 3-4 hours a day to help out. The department staff I met were glad to see a gopher.
I really enjoyed sitting at video programing and having to come up with creative answers to "What is this anime about?"

I am good at hiding, I think I was in the gopher hole maybe 5 minutes total the entire con - my badge name this year was "blank". I was sent out before I even entered the room... well not that quick but it felt like it, lol. I only had 3 hours of "official time" in 2010, but will definately up that for this year.
Whenever my girlfriend insists on watching events in main programming or standing in the line for main programming (costume contest comes to mind) I plan on being in the gofer hole in 2011. Lines are not my cup of sake and I would rather be helping out.
At another con I attended this summer I had 16+ hours of volunteering between badge checking at the exhibitors entrance to the dealer hall and managing lines for guest of honor activities. So I have the volunteer bug and it is contagious.

Helping out is fun - that's why I became staff.
If you have experience in a particular area (for example, dealer's hall) my recommendation is to let Zeth know. :3
