I have me a date tomorrow (omg!) and we are sort of winging it. Going to the Art Institute, then out to eat (any good restaurants down there?!) and then possibly just exploring the city, depending on time and everything.

I actually used to work a block away from the Art Institute (DePaul) so I sort of know the area, but I never really explored much, mostly just went to work and went home.

Anyway, I'd like to have SOME idea of where to go if we get to the exploring part. And a decent restaurant.

PS. We're both poor grad school students so nothing too pricey...

Hmm, thought about that, though it is all outside right? The weather forecast for tomorrow is kind of iffy.

If it's still up, look for a place called Osey. It's off the red line (Grant station I believe) and serves Japanese food. I can't really remember the prices, but it's worth a try.

I haven't been there in a while, so any thing I mention may not be there any more. May I suggest just window shoppin on the magnificent mile, you will probably find a resturant thats suits both. There used to be a big record store that even had books, depends how much you want to walk & the weather is suposed to be bad. I heard up to 10 inches starting around noon. Good luck though.

Russian Tea Time is AMAZING, but it's very small and might be difficult to get a table without a reservation. If you can, totally go for the Russian Tea, it's very filling if not a little expensive.

Well to be honest, we were both kind of winging it because it was sort of last minute and we have crazy grad school schedules so it is tough to find time to plan out epic dates. We did the Art Institute, then walked around random until we found a pizza place, then walked around randomly again until we found a tea place to hang at.

Anyway, the date went spankingly awesome and she told me many times how much fun she was having and it all felt natural and awesome and we talked a ton and I asked her on another date and she said of course yada yada yada. Which maybe doesn't seem like a huge deal, but I'm 30 and this is my first date that has ever led to a (tentative) 2nd date so... it's a pretty big milestone for me, lol.

Congrats! I'm so glad things worked out so well. I'm very very happy for you. I hope you get that second date for sure. =)

Ladies ladies ladies, if you find a man whose only concern about a woman is her breast size, he just may be dumb enough to believe you if you say you have Ds when you have Bs.

Oh that's pretty much a sure thing, unless she has some massive shift in feelings (which I guess IS possible... girls, lol). On a lot of past dates I kind of had no clue what the girl thought, but this time around it was obvious. By the time I even got around asking her for the second date I pretty much knew it was a yes.

I am glad it's for sure. It sounds like the date went very well. And yes, we girls are very indecisive. Not all, but plenty sure are. I know I am. XDDD I'm almost as bad as Brett Favre. >>
