This is the general area. For those of you who must use the blue line to come in, this shows how far from the hotel it is. It's about a 5-10 minute walk and rests directly in-between the Hyatt and the McDonald's.

The upper dome. It is now completely off limits to all gatherings. Offices are up here, the EMT/medical room is here..and so is IRT. They will eat you. Don't go up there for gatherings.

East INDOOR Wall. Directly to the right of the escalators. Depending on where the con holds the function space, gatherings post-8 pm will be held upstairs or downstairs.

Fun fact: The bathrooms were remodeled last year. They have tv's by their sinks. Omg, right?

On the topic of reservation security...what if there was some kind of (generic or customized?) certificate that meetup leaders could print out and bring with them to the spot? Then nobody on Acen staff would have to get involved...except that they would probably have to send the files privately to meetup coordinators.

That idea might not work with everybody, but then at least people would believe you when you said you reserved that spot. Sometimes people are defiant because they think you're just toying with them, so....

Sorry if this is a totally dumb idea. I thought it was worth throwing out there at least.

EDIT: Oh man I'm sorry, I even posted this in the wrong thread because I had too many tabs open. But I'm glad to hear you guys are working something out.

We are working something out to have some staff walking around to cover the gatherings. We will be taking a head count.. and I'd like to personally give a walkthrough each morning (or evening? Whatever is more convenient) for the people speaking for each meet to show where their space is and to answer any questions.

Um...this is my first year to acen. I dont know where the steampunk, vocaloid, lolita/maid photo shoots are...do you know where they are?

What is "main programming" area? Is it an area? Is it that big room where the Aural vampire concert was held last year? :o

I would like to say yes but I didn't go to Aural Vampire.
If you look at this,
Main Programming is in the Grand Ballroom on the entry level of the Hyatt. Is that where Aural Vampire was?
(If I'm wrong, someone can correct me.)

I don't recall where Aural Vampire was but they were probably in the Main Ballroom. If you're facing the front doors of the Hyatt, there's that hallway that would be on your left, there's a Customer Service desk there & Special Needs, and then the big main ballrooms. That's where most of Main Programming's events happen. :)
