This year we aren't allowing pictures of badges to be posted on our forum. We advise all attendees to not post pictures anywhere as someone copied an attendees badge last year using an online picture. That attendee wound up in a meeting with con management and I'm sure it wasn't fun for them. With someone using a badge that looks like yours you could wind up in trouble for what they do wrong in the con. So please don't post pictures, I know it's been a tradition and I hate breaking traditions but we really don't want a repeat of that incident. >.< It only takes one person to ruin the fun for others

So far mailing is on schedule, we've done our prep session with stamping and stuffing (letters) thousands of envelopes (by hand >.<) and should be able to mail out more than our average 2000 when we do our first wave because of this prep Our goal is to work extra hard and get all 3500-4000 current mailing badges out that weekend !

Thats awsome about going above & beyond the norm for mailing! Just wondering what weekend that would be, you know, so we can start stalking the mail man? As for the copying of the badge image, you should let that person be taking care of by us other attendees, we would promise that you would never get involved in how we deal with them, capiche!

it really depends on if we get the badges in the mail from our printer in time >.< we will be continuing prep and training this weekend though so still working hard even if we don't have badges. Cross your fingers! It's ACen's turn to stalk our mail box. I'll forward the thank yous to our staff this weekend They always love to hear from you guys! We even have thank you cards on display at our office

OF COURSE! We've caught 99% so far in the system, we'll catch any who slipped through while printing. People don't seem to understand we see EVERY badge name while processing in the system and we see them again when we print, and again when we stick it on their badge. This year I've been abusing a 1337 translator and changing all fail names to leet 3P1( ƒ41£ so watch for those with leet on their names! They failed >.<

ok we ordered our badges and it says 2-4 weeks delivery time so we aren't sure when we're getting them. Latest is the 26th but we're crossing our fingers to get them in the next 2 days before the 20th. If they don't come by the 20th we'll be trickling them out from the 27th and on.

Short version: whatever breaks or tries to get around the con's "family-friendly" rule. I helped with badge mailing last year; although I can't get specific on examples, I will say there were some pretty interesting ones. And like Bloo said, people don't always seem to realize that staff gets to SEE these names before, during and after printing. And I'll wager that they also think we're blind as bats or that certain words/references - even ones in different languages - will always go over our heads.

Offensive terms, curse words, offensive/inappropriate references, making naughty bits with symbols, we have caught latin phrases, ummm.. suggestive sayings.. really anything you shouldn't say in front of your parents, teachers, etc. I know some will say but my mom says that.. I don't care, you know what I mean.
