I thought this would be a fun topic to discuss. The NA'VI from the film Avatar. The NA'VI clan are 10 feet tall, blue, and of course you have the ear's and tail in the mix. Their bodies are very slender as well. I would love to see this at ACen next year personally since im in love with the movie now. What I would like to know is can this be done in cosplay form? Will there be an Avatar cosplay at ACen 2010? It would be challenging, but it would be a fantastic thing to see!

I've seen people cosplay the blue people (with the tentacle hair?) from the Star Wars movies. In fact, I remember a REALLY good one from my first Wizard World.

The alcohol-activated makeup she used for it (hint hint) is pretty expensive, though... and it takes lots of time and patience (and a trustworthy friend with the same qualities) to apply it correctly.

I'd like to see it too, though... especially with the little starry-sky freckles.

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the 10 foot part.

I mean, I'm already over 6 foot myself, and I saw a guy on 2.5 foot blocks as stilts for pyramid head last year...

but >4 foot stilts? Talk about an immobile cosplay, ranking just below Optimus Prime from last year.

cool movie, but I don't see myself pulling that off, unless I learn some major balance skilz

I think the people around could use their imagination, because stilts would look ridiculous unless you increase your arm length which you would just end up looking like a walking doll.

But like how it was said above patience would definitely be a virtue for this cos.

I would definitely enjoy doing the cos, the detailing would be no problem. Now washing it all off....well thats different story itself. Just trying to get gray off the skin is a pain in the arse.

So go as a Na'vi toddler. Not yet grown up. Create your concept of Na'vi diapers to wear...

Na'vi teenyboppers.... <shudder>

Actually you can pull it off. Remember the scientists were in full clothing and they were NA'VI. So it is possible.

I think even if you went as a normal sized Na'vi people would still love it. I am in love with the movie.....and would love to cosplay from it but it would be to much a pain in the arse for me to deal with this year. TwT

But if anyone does...I will hunt you down and hug you~ =^-^=

As long as what should be covered are covered, it follows the ACen rules.

Remember, there have been Felicias and Leloos and a girl who did a sexy no jutsu Naruto with JUST cotton balls. And I'm sure there are girls who have run around in just a bra and underwear. I haven't seen any guys do something where you could almost see their junk which is why I've emphasized the girls.

I couldn't see myself doing that. I don't want my whole body covered in blue. ._____.
