So this is random for an anime convention forum but I figure one hobby leads to multiple hobbies so lets talk about it!
How do you guys feel about cars? The title says it all.

Hmm, well, I don't feel particularly strongly about cars one way or another... though right now I drive a Toyota.

Ha ha, very funny. :P I needed a stable car that would hold up against heavy driving (at the time I was doing 50 miles per day, minimum, almost every day) and was high on the fuel efficiency side without costing too much. This was after driving an old beater that lasted less than a year during high school and a Cavalier that broke down on me at about 100,000 miles. And right now, I've got too many bills to worry about upgrading. XD

That must blow... My car destroys gas like thats what it was built for, not getting me from point A to point B. But it does it with style! Fastest and most awesome 10 mpg ever!

Well, if I remember right from word of mouth.... I keep on hearing that Toyota is #1 on sales.... General Motors is somewhere below that???? (I'm really really really behind from my car news).... But when it comes to performance.... pick something else since Toyota isn't too focus on performance, only on customer sales... But the AE86 will make it's come back soon...... Too bad the "next gen AE86" the FT-86 might not make it to US.... BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Yeah I know Toyota is selling better in this economy. American cars are no good nowadays. And that FT-86 is pretty awesome by anyones standards.

And Ska. Dont worry. Not everyone can have an awesome car like me. <3 (Sarcasm, my car isnt THAT great. Better than a little econobox though)

Ok... Im not a fan of the truck itself but that is completely awesome. Just the fact that the truck is like that.. And the graffiti is beautiful. Ugh.. Makes me think of the graffiti in my town. The best we have is a giant johnson on the side of a Dollar General.

Blech. Trucks in general arent really my thing. Especially when dumb rednecks raise them up so they have to climb it like Mount Everest and put exhaust on them so smoke comes out to the point you cant see while driving behind them.. Almost got into a wreck that way. No lie.

My truck is specially made for the streets... the suspensions on my xRunner came like that.. with a lower ride high from a standard Tacoma.... And when it comes to traveling to cons.. I can bring as much stuff with me to get the job done at the cons.... which happens to be my video and photography gear......

So yeah, I'm like a .... ghetto redneck in a way.... >.>

I do not see how raising your truck or dropping an exhaust is any different than what other people do to their cars. Chroming out their engines, sound systems, new exhausts, rims ECT. It's just that the people in those trucks do not share the same views as you, so what they do is dumb, correct?

Honestly I dont think Id be able to switch to a FWD or anything less than a V8. Ive gotten so used to it. I got my license a bit more than two years ago and all Ive driven are muscle cars. The Camaro was my first car and my only one atm.. I drove my dads 75 Corvette Stingray to school for a while last year until he sold it. And before that I drove around a V8 Porsche (doesnt really count as muscle obviously. Silly Germans. <3) that we had in the driveway until it crapped out on me. x_x;

Not necessarily dumb. Its just frustrating. Now dont get all PC on me man! Im just venting. lol

I am not being PC. I just do not see why it bothers you so much. I bet import cars with loud exhausts annoy you also.

Hah. I saw what you did there... Well I have an ingrown rivalry with Mustang drivers obviously. Theyre ok though.

And yes. Loud fart cans are annoying. But everyone has their gripes. And I dont chrome anything or mod anything. My car is bone stock so sure I dont have room to judge, but I have more room than others to an extent.

And also... The smoking exhaust wouldnt annoy me so much if it didnt almost kill me. o_o

Yeah! I saw one of those at the airport! First time I had seen one for real and my first thought was how tiny it was. It was surprising. They really arent that outlandishly expensive either.

Putting no work into a camaro? Insanity, I am not huge into cars, but if I had a nice car I would drop a couple of bucks into it.

I totally would but this thing is COMPLETELY unmolested. Its a 91 RS 305 and it had 30k miles on it when I got it. It had been sitting in an old ladys garage for 10+ years. If it was more beat up sure. But it runs like brand new and still shines. Hardly a single flaw. Im not gonna screw that up.

i've been in the car scene for as long if not longer then i've been into the anime scene. my car's of choice are Toyota's they hands down make some of the best cars out there today and in the past they made some of the best sports cars in the market.

for example:

1993-1998 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo probably the best sports built in the 90's and probably still one of the best performing sports cars on the used market today.

1988-1992 Toyota All-Trac Turbo Celica it was a single turbo 2.0 liter AWD hatchback. definitely ahead of times.

1984-1987 Toyota Corolla GTS aka the AE86 aka the HachiRoku it was RWD 1.6 liter engine, cheap and super fun to drive.

1986-1995 Toyota MR2 Turbo was a 2 seater midengine RWD car that had no match in its performance styling and handling.

so in a nutshell i'm a toyota guy all i've ever owned were toyota's except for the one time i decided to buy a honda, but that got stolen like most honda's do. so here's my list of cars i've owned in no particular order

1982 Toyota Celica GTS
1984 Toyota Celica GTS
1985 Toyota Celica Supra
1989 Toyota Celica All-Trac Turbo
1987 Toyota Supra Turbo
1991 Toyota Supra Turbo
1994 Toyota Camry
1992 Toyota Celica All-Trac Turbo
1992 Lexus SC400

Current cars
1995 Toyota Supra
1991 Toyota Previa

oh yeah also for those that think that toyota isn't making exciting cars anymore they only have to look at the FT-86 and the new Lexus LF-A. the LF-A is coming into production next year and the FT-86 will be in production by 2011. also the rumors of bringing back the legendary Supra are in the works.

Nissan stepped up the game when it released the Nissan GTR here in the states so i'm pretty sure toyota is going to follow suit.
