I recently began watching this anime after one of my friends in Japan recommended it. Bakemonogatari began airing in Japan early July this year so its been hard to find decent dubs of recent episodes. Its a really awesome anime! i can't say i've seen anything quite like it ^0^

Here is the distcription from Anime News Network:

"Bakemonogatari centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who is almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjōgahara, who infamously never talks to anyone, falls down the stairs into Koyomi’s arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs next to nothing, in defiance of physics. After being threatened by her, Koyomi offers her help, and introduces her to Meme Oshino, a middle-aged homeless man who helped him stop being a vampire."

I watched the first few episodes and found the pacing to be terrible. The first episode grabs you then it's snooze time after that.
My barren plan to be a better man
Rots in abandoned fields
These idle hands inherit spoiled lands
As the hungry become the pigs
We reap (and) we sow
We mourn who we were
Love what we lost

Really? i agree the first episode is pretty intense, really grabbing you, and it does slow down a bit in the next two or three episodes but at the same time i wouldn't call it a "snooze time" at all. If anything i think its more character profiling, witty, and funny rather than action pact in those episodes. i guess its hard to explain, like i said it isn't like animes i've seen before.

waiting on the books to be shipped for me^^

You have to have a taste for Nisioisin's work. The man's a genius, wrote his first novel at 19 (Zaregoto Series), but also an insane philosopher.

The first episode had me thinking it was going to be something I usually like a lot. Then the next three we all dialogue that I found to be pretty boring. I was going to make an exception for it even though it was *surprise surprise* based on high schoolers. Then it turned out not to be chock full of action. I just wish there were more thought out setting's and different worlds and such.

the first 4. I am in the middle east now and can't watch anything. But episodes 2,3,4 about the lost slug or whatever were freaking boring!

meh...the mans more about play on words than anything and that will never come over through translations. ie, the girls last name is mayoi=lost
batemonogatari is the combination of bakemono(monster/ghost) and monogatari (story). in an almost shiritori fashion, she created bakemonogatari. I was happy to see that he was in the samae spirit when Nisioision used Ghostory (ghost+story in shiritori nature) for a quick blurb. most of this will be lost on overseas viewers.

Yes, though i didn't always understand it i really did enjoy his play on words ^^ the scenes with Aragi-san and Senjogahara-san make me laugh, i love Aragi-san's little cowlick hair that shows his expressions (like when he's shocked or uncomfortable) XP

Bakemonogatari is a cool anime. It's not for teh childrinz. My friend was quotable when he said "it's like watching someone's dream of an anime". In other words, it's weird, trippy and cool. It did a lot of things I did not think an anime would do, and I'm always grateful for something that doesn't play out the same as everything else.

Was it? I believe it was only supposed to be 15 episodes long, i know that the last three were distributed on the official website. I'm guessing that's why i can't find the last 3 episodes in the series translated T_T

Indeed. The Anime wasn't canceled. It was only a few arcs long to begin with.
