Ok so it might be a bit early for thinking about next year but, this year if I can get enough people to come I'm thinking about doing something Prince of Tennis. Long story short, this rule:

"No Live Steel. Period. If your costume calls for you to wear a katana or other sharp/dull _METAL_ weapon, use an obvious fake. Violation of this rule will be taken VERY seriously."

Does it affect the use of Tennis rackets? I don't want to be there and get disqualified for bringing a tennis racket but I know people were strict about rackets this year just from carrying them around. They are real rackets but they are not made out of steal and I don't know if they would be considered a weapon XD I just want to make sure whether I can use it or not before I throw something together~!
Acen 2011 Cosplays:
Prince of Tennis- Shishido 95%
Shaman King- Lyserg 50%
Fruits Basket- Kyo 90%
Pokemon- Azurill 50%

*All Cosplays will be in a group, we are working on getting 5 people to come in our Group to Acen this year.

I'm not IRT either, but I would think that a normal graphite racquet would be approved. Lightweight non-weapon props under 48" should be fine, so long as you're not wielding it in a reckless manner. But this is something that you should probably ask closer to next year's con, just to be sure.

If a tennis racquet is deemed to be too large, you could always carry a racquetball racquet. They're only half the size. :)
