In my opinion your cosplay from last years acen was the coolest I have ever seen.
Bachelors know more about women than married men; if they didn't, they'd be married too.
Santa on the crapper is officially dead.

man, you crack me up. As far as falling apart goes.. the blue piece that flipped up is the removable piece of Optimus' hand so that he can hold the 4 and half foot gunmode Megatron I built for him.
i like how ya left a youtube comment and then retracted it by the way. I thought is was cute...
ANYWAY, since that is over with... most of you probably do not know but shortly after the above photos were taken the Fire Marshal ordered us to move the costume outside. Optimus effectively shut down the flow of traffic in the lower level of the lobby. I climbed back into the beast across the street from the Hyatt. We still had crowds crossing over for photos.
Thank you to everyone for positive comments. Ive been attending cons in costumes for 16 years now, but this was my first ACEN

This was also the first time I've ever seen or heard of a costume shutting down the lobby by the fire marshal. We were actually ordered to take the costume outside. I've never heard of that happening at Anime Central. And I've been to every Acen since 1998. No Godzilla, mecha, or Pokemon has ever done that. No matter what you have heard or seen online, it doesn't capture the full effect of seeing Prime walk and move in person. He finally did so in the lobby and outside.
There is a lot of preparation work involved with this costume. Its not like throwing on a pair of jeans and a jacket. There's harnesses, buckles, and balance. Its a very physically demanding costume. I've seen Don work the suit in 90+ degree weather for longer than he should have. Its all about dedication, not recognition.
Edit: Here's some more pics of Prime. Both with Don in the costume and out.

Also, a huge thanks to all of the Acen staffers who helped up out. Kage-kun, Flynn (congrats buddy!), Jason, Tammy, and all the others who's names I'm forgetting. You guys helped us out a lot. I was in a hurry before when I posted and forgot to thank everyone.

And it took Don 3 months (not including minor improvements) to complete.
I forgot to mention earlier that we were at Navy Pier on April 29th. It was for the IMAX premier of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer. (They also showed the 2007 film.) But Entertainment Tonight was there and interviewed us both. Not sure when they're going to air the footage. But the best guess is it will be closer to the release of the film. The costume was seen for a brief moment on the April 30th broadcast. They were talking about the trailer.

thats why they only come out once ever
besides i lose interest in them a week after im done
i like making cosplay much more than wearing them
in a year it would be a pile of trash anyway
~pulls out new toy~
i already turned part of it into a gun
it shots nerf darts!
(edit)
three times a year
and masses of props
~thinks~
hay
give me more credit than that
i have never made a boxy mech
(more edit)
"and what do you thing of the omnimon cosplay? "
what?

My take on it: Fanservice/popularity value = 9/10 (I'd say 10, but I was sitting next to a hardcore Transformers fan/cosplay designer who picked it apart quite skilfully, so I'm sure there were others), but points for mobility and materials choice are lower. The shock value was diminished because 1) I've seen giant cosplays up close before, and 2) I was staring at it for about a half hour, and then analyzing it as it moved; BUT it was a good job overall. I did enjoy it, especially when it danced.
