Any Other Music Obsessives Out There? Alternately, post your last.fm accounts if you have them

All day and night I have music playing, either actively listening or just for background tunes. I eat to music, I sleep to music, everything I do revolves around music. I spend hours every day talking about music and looking for new music. I don't consider a day complete until I have found a new band, or at least a new album. Really good days are when I discover entirely new genres.
I couldn't tell you what genres I listen to if I wanted to. I've tried before to make lists of what I listen to, and I never end up covering everything. I can legitimately say I listen to almost all forms of music out there. And I don't mean like those people that say, "Yeah, I listen to everything but rap and country!" In my eyes, that is a cop-out. It is a simple way to say, "I have terrible taste in music." I'm sure the point could be argued that music taste is subjective, but I don't believe it. I believe a shallow taste in music says a lot about a person. I understand that some genres -- like harsh noise, black metal, power electronics, etc. -- are very grating, and not easy on the ears. I can understand not liking such genres, though I encourage everybody that meets me to try. But with things like rap and country, I say that if you don't think you like it, it just means that you have not found the right artists. I have met many people that hate rap, only to have them fall in love with things like Aesop Rock, The Black Violin, or Tha Blue Herb (a fantastic Japanese rap group). I have met many avid haters of country that will now join me in singing a chorus of "You haul 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt. Saint Peter Don't you call me, cuz I can't go; I owe my soul to the company stove."
Anyway, that's a portion of my views on music.
In this thread, I encourage other audiophiles to discuss music in all its infinite glory. Your views on music, what you are and are not into, your favorite filetypes and bitrates (mp3, 192. For the record), etc. You don't have to be quite as pretentious and obsessive as me, so long as you share a love for music and all the gifts it gives us. Also, if you have a Last.fm, I encourage you greatly to share it. I personally always love finding a new person with Super compatability, ha ha.
And by the way, I'm really a nice guy, I swear. It's just that when I talk about music, I get a little full of myself, lol.

Edit coming up with more words.
edit:
Anyway, I get obsessed from time to time. Not currently. But I do always listen to music. What good is silence when it can be made use of? Unless you're meditating without music, that's fine.
I'm pretty picky with my music. Even within the bands I listen to, I hate some songs and just adore others.
As for genres ... I sort of don't pay attention. A person looking from the outside might sort my music in their head, and see me as only listening to a few genres... but truth is, it's hard for me to find music I like. So naturally I only have a limited library of music which I enjoy.
I am completely and always open to trying new things, and music, though. It's awesome to find a new band which I actually enjoy.
It's worth noting that a huge portion of my library is video game music. If the person reading this is curious, I can list games, OR ... we could start a topic about VGM (if there already isn't one).
Talking about rap, I like the Beastie Boys. Popular, sure, but I haven't found many other bands which sufficiently entertain me in a rap style. I enjoy the socio-political aspects to some of their music, and also the silly/nerdy-ness.
Leadbelly is about as close as it gets, with country.
As for headphones? I have yet to invest in anything above 30 dollars. I know, I know. I'm missing out on a world of sound. But truth is, simple earbuds are the most functional and easy to carry around. I really would like these nice 400 dollar german over-ear phones I've been eying for a long time, but it's just not worth it to me. I'd only use them at home, really.
File type - I take what I can get. File size isn't an issue, so if I can get high quality, I go for that. MP3 is the current standard, but that's a licensed format, and takes up unnecessary space. Hopefully we see a change in the future (AAC?) especially with independent artists.
And by the way, I understand your pretentiousness. I feel that way, sometimes. It's disappointing that so many people listen to such crap music.

Anywho, I love music that pertains to how I feel, whether it be opera or heavy metal, classical or alternative, english to french to japanese to italian to chinese to german to russian to latin I have them all. My list is gigantic and there is so much to listen to and I love obscure music that barely anyone has heard of. That's just how I roll. I don't listen to the radio, but only when there is no other option for music. I don't have XM because Im poor and I have the little dinky tape that plugs into your ipod or cd player. It gets the job done.
I just love music and people the brag about thier music being the best is just wrong. Its like saying that a childs drawing is crap compared to Van Gogh's. Everyone has their favorites and dislikes when it comes to art and that is what music is. It's an art. Those who appreciate it for what it is, truly understands music. Those who blast their music from their cars with the bass over bearing the rest of the music does NOT appreciate the music at all. I do love my music loud, but loud enough as to where I can hear every peices and instruments and vocals that make the music.

And you don't want an octopus squatting on your brain, do you, son?"

I haven't heard of the band you posted. I'm not much for metal or screamo though. They do seem like some of the best in their genre.

As far as indie, check out a band called Gazillion. They, in my eyes, take the cake for indie rock. If you read their lyrics, you'll understand. And for the person who said they like obscure music, they're for you. They're a tiny group out of Wisconsin with one LP and one split EP with Sonicate. They are small to the point where, until I uploaded it, their first album was *gasp* not on the internet for free! And trust me, if I can't find it, it isn't there. However, now it is easily found on 4chan's /rs/ section. Not that you should download it -- the album is so good that it's worth the ten bucks or so. But if you want to try it, it's there. Also, if you look up their lyrics, I'm the one that's been putting most of them up. It takes a long time, but I feel that people should really read them, and it's worth it in my eyes.
I'd put up links to their music, but there are none. Hpwever, you can listen to almost all of their upcoming album on Last.FM, if you're interested.
Also, on the topic of good metalcore, check out Protest the Hero. It's kind of an insult to call them metalcore, or even progressive metalcore, because there's so much more to them. The closest band they sound like would probably be The Fall Of Troy or The Human Abstract, but even that doesn't quite capture them. They only have 2 albums, Fortress and Kezia, but I guarantee they will be one of the best additions you ever make to your collection.

Protest the Hero - Turn Soonest To the Sea (off of Kezia) http://www.last.fm/music/Protest+the+Hero/...nest+to+the+Sea
Finally, Astronautalis. Another group I really wish I could describe, but just can't. It's kind of like what would happen if you mated an underground hip hop group with an indie rock group.

Astronautalis - The Wondersmith and His Sons http://www.last.fm/music/Astronautalis/_/T...th+and+His+Sons
Nice to hear I'm not the only one on here that finds music to be so important!
BTW, Pokemon Trainer, I remember you as well, haha. Nice to hear from you!

What I like best changes often. Right now it's classical, techno, and Disney songs in foreign languages that I'm liking best. The Disney songs won't show up on last.fm, though, since I had to rip the audio from youtube videos. I don't really have any favorite artist at the moment; just a handful of favorite songs.
Also, I'm always looking for recommendations! =D

Ukraine has breasts.
She has them in spades.
If South Korea and Ukraine were to hook up...
Then South Korea would never have a shortage of breasts ever again.
