First prop I'm concerned about is a flute I plan to use with Trowa from Gundam Wing. Regular old musical flute, except it's metal. I'm not sure just how crazy the IRT are against metal props, but I figured I would ask whether or not a flute is considered a "safe" prop considering the fact that if I were really, really determined, I could probably bludgeon someone with it. If need be, I'm willing to have it peacebonded.

Second prop is a set of metal wrenches for Yousuke from Persona 4. Will these be a no-go? Generic wrenches, nothing fancy or crazy.

My alternative would be a set of generic Naruto kunai--are these also out on the basis that they are likely pointy even if I dull them and they're made of plastic or cast resin?

I don't know the boundaries of ACen's rules pertaining to weapons that aren't intended to be used as weapons, so you'll have to excuse me if somewhere these are listed as notable exceptions or something of that sort.

The rules are that "live steel" is not permitted. Live steel meaning any sort of blade-like object with a point (sharp or blunt).

Wrench is a total no go. It's not a blade of course, but it still has an edge on it.

As for the flute, I'm not positive. It's made of metal, but it doesn't really have an edge. Wait on IRT or other staff to answer that one.

I'm not IRT but I don't see a problem with the flute. The wrench might be ok but I'll let someone from IRT speak for that. Just as long as you don't go doing something stupid with those things I think they should be fine. Plus I'm guessing that flute is at least a few hundred anyway, so you prob won't do something dumb with it.

I did find these two post that are about wrenches if you care to look at them until a member from IRT can answer this for you.

The wrenches are indeed a no, sorry about that. Plastic ones would be fine. A toy store usually has a kids tool box, with plastic wrenches in it. The flute is ok, but please limit the playing of it to outside areas, or out of traffic flow patterns. and please don't swing it around.
