So, the title and topic description are fairly self-explanatory. Who here besides me plays Guild Wars?

I love the games, I first got it about 6 months ago and play pretty much every day. At any given point in time I'm wandering around Prophecies or Nightfall on my Dervish, working on mapping or doing missions or moaning about the fact that I can't yet afford the armor I want.

Anyone else play? What kind of characters do you have? My main is a Dervish (secondary is Monk 95% of the time, otherwise it's Mesmer), and I have two other characters I play a lot - an Assassin/Ranger and a Mesmer/Elementalist. I also have a Ranger/Monk who is a PvP character. And a host of others that I've made but never finished leveling up.

I play any character class that is needed, but mostly in PvE i monk. PvP i do just about everything, just depends on the type of pvp to be played.


Lenne: do you GvG or have a guild or anything?

I'm in a guild, but it's just a small guild that one of my friends made, and consists of us and a few of our other friends we've gotten into the game. We're all really more PvE players - I'm the only one that really does any PvP, and basically that's just RA every so often. I did take my Dervish into RA recently and was surprised at how well I did, even though I was using a completely different build than I was used to. 9 straight wins with no healer and a Me/W that spent most of the matches dancing...wooo. But yeah, no GvG or serious PvP or anything like that. We tend to prefer co-op play to competitive play. Though we'll probably do AB when we get there.

I'm pretty much just slowly playing through everything with one of my friends - we're taking our time with it and not rushing anything. Just about done with Prophecies and about...halfway through Nightfall? I basically rushed the missions in Nightfall because I wanted Vabbian armor for my Dervish, which I bought the other day

My IGN is Farai Savitri; there are other characters I play but she's my main and who I've spent the most time on. Dervish/Monk FTW. I also play A/R, Me/E, and just started out a Monk the other day and getting used to that. Must say, standing back to let everything else do the killing is very, very different from how I normally play

monking is very different from everything else that is for sure...I'll look you up after acen to do so playing sometime, you can do the same...me and my heroes can help do just about anything in the game you would need.

Where you gonna be staffing at during the co, if you know, maybe I'll swing by and we can talk GW for a bit. I see table to, so i may just randomly head there and try to find you, if i don't hear.

Yeah, I'm definitely finding very quickly that monking is VERY different.

I'm Tabletop Gaming, I'll be in Florence in the basement most of the weekend. I have shoulder-length red hair and glasses and -should- be fairly easy to find.

I played for a long time, four years this year actually. I don't play much anymore, and when I did, all I did was pvp. Currently Rank 10. It's dying out imo.

I haven't played Guild Wars in years...tbh I was a bit disappointed with all the instancing after thinking it was a true MMORPG, but the gameplay/graphics are still amazing on it, as well as the PvP battles.

I used to play the first day it came out. The only problem I had with it was when you go into the 'world' you don't see anyone but your party. I like to see everyone all the time

Or when we PVPed the most broken thing at the time was the Archer or whatever for the evasion. And this guy would single-handed take out 4 of the other team while they tried to kill him with some poison attack and splash damage thing. We had so many wins in a row, until I was too tired to play anymore.

See, the instancing is a big reason as to why I got so into it. I'm sorry, I do not want to play with the average idiot on an MMO. Spending more than five minutes in Kamadan or Lion's Arch or the Great Temple of Balthazar is more than enough to try my patience Also, for some reason, if I'm sitting in a mission outpost for more than a minute (generally because I'm waiting for a friend) I'm always getting harassed to help people. Only when I play my Dervish, too. Never if I'm on my Mesmer or Assassin, just my Dervish. Not even my Monk gets that!

I'm much happier being able to go out with a couple of my friends and not have to worry about anyone else pestering us.

I'm gonna revive an old thread because my boyfriend [Angel of Death] got me hooked on Guild Wars. lol

I downloaded it a few months ago or so to try it [I used a free slot on my boyfriend's many accounts], but I was busy with other stuff that I just deleted it off my computer. Now that I started playing it again, I've gotten hooked. I bought the Platinum Pack [Prophecies and Eye of the North] last week and I finally have my own account. I decided to go with a Necromancer instead of an Elementalist [my character was one on my boyfriend's account]. I love magic users so never expect me to play anything, but a Necromancer and an Elementalist. lol Though I might try a Mesmer and a Monk. I'm also addicted to quests, so I don't get very far since I concentrate on quests. lol

I play when I have time. I'll probably play during spring break next week. My first character was a warrior/monk
my main character is an elementalist. My warrior's name is Thor Highstrike and my Elementalist is named The Great Dr Doom.
