I am cosplaying as Hungary from Axis Powers Hetalia and she has a frying pan. Now, I know metal is not allowed, but I read a post that Mika wrote and it looks like it could be ok. Here is the quote:

Does this mean that my metal frying pan is ok? I just want someone from IRT to confirm that I can or cannot bring one. I am not going to whacking people with it and it will be a small one. So, I figure it will be ok. Thanks.

I think the post kind of contradicts itself. It says initially that anything made of metal, whether it be blunt or sharp, is "live steel' and is not allowed. Then the next statement says that if it doesnt have a sharp end its okay...so I'm scratching my head about that one. ^^;;

But I'm sure it would be okay if it was a small one, dont quote me on that one though ^^;

Well, the one person in that thread said no, but I am curious about this year since that person said it's fine for a prop that is metal but not sharp to be carried around. Ugh! @_____@

I'm going to say probably no. Even though a pan isn't blade-like and doesn't have any sort of edges, it's still a blunt, heavy object. I'd see if you can buy a toy plastic one, or make your own. Or maybe bring one of each, so in case your metal one isn't allowed you have a backup.
