Training isn't that bad, I promise! If I was able to understand it I know you certainly will ^^. Once you are accepted it would be advised you come in early for training, it won't take too long. You will either be trained by one of the higher ups or by one of the fellow reg staffees.

Please remember, the hours are spread throughout the whole con, and the minimum is 24 hours. It cannot be done all on Thursday and Friday. They are very flexible with what shifts you can and cannot work if you want to see a panel or a photoshoot. It would also be nice to have people to stay Sunday for breakdown too, I am going to try and stay for that.

That's what I'm doing - I'm heading up early Thursday to help out with setup, and I plan on sticking around Sunday to help with teardown. :3

If you got your badge that does not mean you are rejected. I'll be sending out the accepted letters soon, I've only had time to glance over emails but so far I don't see anyone we shouldn't accept as staff.

If you have already paid for a badge and gotten it and were accepted you need to speak with me privately about what we do from there :D

Classic Rubic's Cubes didn't need glue and tweezers-- if you knew the trick, you could slide the whole puzzle apart, and snap in back together in a solved state.

Or in a completely unsolvable state, scramble it, and then pass it on to someone else without telling them what you'd done, if you were evil.
There is a slight flaw in my character.

My mom's friend's son, when he was younger, took all the stickers off and put them back on so the colors were the same on each side. She thought she gave birth to a genius until she found out what he did. XDDD

24 hours throughout the con. ^_^ Don't worry registration is closed early enough on Saturday where you can go to Soap Bubble.

Like SongtressLenne said it's 24 hours throughout the convention weekend. One of the awesome things about registration, is that it does close so we all can go to the Soap Bubble and have a good time ^_^. It's a great place to make friends too, there's 70-ish of us and I've met a bunch that are pretty awesome. Most of the staff in other departments are too, I've completely enjoyed my time staffing ACEN so far and I've only done pre-convention work.

Signed there, I just feel like i'm going to miss out on things that I would be going to.. I'll make up my mind within the next 10 min haha and prolly end up sending a message especially knowing that it's 24 hours through out the entire weekend. BUT WE WILL NEED MORE PEOPLE I CAN'T CARRY ALL THESE 10 PPLS FOR REAL!!!!

Well if you are just going to be on staff for a free room, maybe you should check the roomates sections to see if someone would be kind enough to give you floor space for a little bit of cash. You can give registration a try next year since it is so close to con and you are quite unsure. =D. You shouldwant to join reg staff to help out the others that are on staff, not just perks and such. It's a very fun job but if you don't want to as if you are being feel tied down to an obligation, your best bet is to wait for next year when when you feel more willing to do it and not pressure into doing it because of circumstances

We went back over the new layout and how many staff we need to fill it and we are short 10 staff!!!!!!

Please email ACenReg09@ACen.org with the following if you would like to apply. This has to be done ASAP.

Name-
Age- (must be over 18)
Gender-
Years attended ACen-
Reason for wanting to join-
Skills in:
Customer service-
Cashier-
Data Entry-
Do you need room space-

For full staff it is 24 hours worked between Thursday and Sunday. You cannot finish your hours Saturday and stop working, we need staff to work their shifts throughout the con which are normally 5-6 hours long. There is also a $20 staff fee that is NOT mandatory but gives you access to full buffet style catered food and drinks, desert, snacks etc. Staff receives a free badge and other perks will be told to you once you're approved for staff. We are allowing people who need room space but this may be floor space unless you have a medical condition that you need bed space. Please remember non staff are not allowed in these rooms as a courtesy to other staff in the hotel room.

If you have any questions send it in your email. I will be living on our email all day and most of the night to answer these asap. We need these staff slots filled fast.
