I do have a lame Cheshire Cat costume, actually. It's not too bad though. I only say it's lame, because it was the first clothes I ever made, and I designed and sewed it entirely on my own, so the construction leaves room for improvement. XP It's pretty cute though, so if I do come, I'll probably wear it.

Feel free to bring as many friends as you like (although we would prefer if you tell us how many first!) everyone is also free to bring any food they wish to eat . (keep in mind, as previously posted, that third parties are not allowed to serve food in public places durring the duration of the convention.

(thanks for the offer to bring leftovers from the Gothic Lolita party. although ironic, it is very welcome XD )

As for the means to boil water, or cook food: I'm not sure what will be available to us, or what means we will be able to ...say....self procure from our existing environment. If you think you have an idea that is SAFE, and (preferably) breaks no rules, feel free to try to bring it. I just don't want to take responsibility for everyone, given that so far, this event is planned entirely on Theoreticals, and "technically speaking" roundabouts of certain rules.

*my only rule regarding this is as follows* IF YOU BRING A STOVE, YOU GOTTA LEAVE.

I will not take any responsibility for any persons who have deemed fit to bring an open flame, and/or fuel, and neither will my friends. I'm certain that this would be in the top 5 fastest ways to be invited to never come back to ACen again.

but enough of the safety talk.

We shall meet at the Tree patch at 10am on Saturday, may 9th. this is just a place to find each other, as the Sailors have taken the patch for their photo shoot. where we go after gathering, is up in the wind ATM. the whole point of this event is for crazy people to gather for some light lunch, and poke around, so this is actually quite befitting.

I'm not sure I buy that. The hotel telling people that they can't share food? Really? So anyways, I made a thread asking people if anyone knows for sure what the policy is. Hopefully I get some helpful responses.

that is one thing that I was afraid of.
I doubt there will be any outlets available in the lobby of the hotel for us to use any way. I wonder if there are any service outlets outside near the bushes for groundskeepers to use though? Although, the legality of that is probably fairly low.

as for doubting whether the hotel doesn't allow people to serve their own food: if they enforce it any year, it will the THIS year, thanks to the craptastic economy.

we do want to have fun, but i don't want to see anyone get arrested at our event (on the other hand, i would LOVE to see someone get arrested from somewhere else. I just think it would be hilarious to see someone in costume getting booked.)

The hotel will probaly not have you arrested. The hotel wiil charge you a large fee for damaging hotel property.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out a way to make the tea in a room and bring it with us. It would be difficult, but not impossible. Actually I do have a couple ideas about it. The most plausible being....
We have one or two of those sealable, plastic pitchers, we make the tea in someones hotel room, put it in those pitchers, and bring the pitchers outside. If we put a knit scarf or something similar around the pitchers that'll keep the tea nice and warm. (I've done this before with hot chocolate and it worked perfectly.) Once outside it's as simple as pouring themselves a cup of tea and adding the sugar (if they want sugar).
I know it sound a little weird, but it'll work.

Judging by the responses I got to the thread about I made about it, it seems like it'd be okay to serve food, as long as we're outside the Hyatt. And we will be. So it's all good.
Besides, if anyone gets arrested for serving food it would be me, since it's gonna be my tea and pie anyways. lol

you are all welcome to wear whatever costume you like,
however keep in mind that this was not intended to be an Alice in Wonderland or a Gothic Lolita party.
This was originally intended to be a batman theme event. We still welcome you all to join us for fun and shenanigans, but i just don't want people to be disappointed when they get there.

ALSO:
RSVP IS NOW CLOSED.
anyone is still allowed to join us for fun and festivities, but only those who have RSVP'ed will receive cookies.
This is to ensure that we actually get a chance to finish making said cookies. we can't just leave it open ended forever.

go ahead and bring it if you wish, unfortunately, I do not believe anyone of us (the hosts that is) will be available to help procure or boil any water....

(harley likes to sleep in, and she's the one who does our makeup. It'll take the rest of us just to wake her up )
