To our Anime Central Attendees



We would like to remind everyone that Tier 3 and the badge mailing option are ending April 1st! The tier 3 price is $50 for a full weekend badge and $1.50 extra to upgrade your account to mailing and for the fancy mailed badge. Post marks must be dated for April 1st for us to accept them, anything after April 1st will be returned.

Description............................................Price - Good through:
Super-Early Bird and Road Show rates..$35 - September 30, 2008
Early Pre-Registration............................$45 - January 15, 2009
Regular Pre-Registration........................$50 - April 1, 2009
Will-Call Registration..............................$55 - April 15, 2009

Kids 6-12 (must be 12 and under at the date of the convention)

* $10 pre-con (through midnight, 4/1/09)
* $15 at-con

Kids 5 and under (must be 5 and under at the date of the convention)

* Free with each adult registration; limit 2 per adult.


Group Discounts

Taking your whole anime club to ACen? Good news! Your group can qualify for a discount on badges.

* 5% discount for groups 10-19
* 10% discount for groups 20 and larger.

To qualify, groups must pre-register by April 1, 2009. At-con registration is not available for groups.


At-Con Rates

* Three-Day Pass: $55
* Friday Pass: $35
* Saturday Pass: $35
* Sunday Pass: $30


One-day passes will only be available at the convention and cannot be pre-ordered.


We would also like to announce a few changes we have made to registration so there is no confusion when you arrive to pick up your badge.

Will-Call - Is when you pay online but do not select mailing. This you need to bring your confirmation sheet or a slip of paper with your badge number on it.

At Convention Registration - All attendees registering or paying at con go into this section. We are going back to paper registration this year to make our lines move faster. Those attendees with an account in our reg system do not need to fill out the paper form.

Groups - Groups of 10+ members have their own section this year. The group leader is allowed to bring 1 person with them into this line for company. Please do not bring your entire into the line with you, unless your group is underage (needs supervision). This will allow us to bring more attendees into the hall for registration instead of leaving them outside where is it potentially cold and raining.

Special Needs - We have added this section for those who cannot stand in line due to medical reasons. We have special needs staff and reg staff working this section. There will be seating for those who cannot stand for long as well. This includes: pregnancy, crutches, wheelchairs, diabetic (and similar conditions) where you cannot go without medication, and more.
We trust that our attendees will not abuse this section and leave it for those who truly need it. If you have any questions for this section please feel free to email us.

Bathroom Passes - We have always allowed attendees to use the bathroom but there was confusion last year with communications. This year we have changed the policy to be more clear. The attendee needs to call for a staffer, we are everywhere in the reg section it won't be hard to find one, and request a bathroom pass. The attendee receives a disposable color coded card and the person in front of or behind receives a mini flag that matches the card. The attendee then has 10 minutes to go do their business, take medication, whatever they need to do and return to the line. After 10 minutes we assume the attendee has given up their spot in line. When they return from their bathroom break they need to go to the information desk in front of reg and the staffer there will bring the attendee back to their matching flag.

Single Day passes - Are now available the day before and the day they are active to give all attendees a chance for no line time during the days they attend! For example you can purchase a Saturday badge on Friday but it still only works on Saturday. We would like to remind attendees that it is cheaper to buy a 3 day pass than to purchase 2 single day passes.

We have taken your suggestions from last year, gone over registration and have redone everything in order for maximum line speed. This has caused more work for staff but to make lines faster for you it's worth it!



What you need to bring:

Will-Call: Photo ID and your confirmation sheet or badge number.

At Convention Registration: Photo ID and if you are not in the reg system from the last 2 years make sure you have the form filled out. They will be placed around the registration section.

Group Payment: Group Leader's Photo ID and the group confirmation sheet or group number.

Special Needs: Photo ID and form filled out if you are not in the reg system from the last 2 years.

We will not issue a badge without a legal Photo ID shown unless the attendee is under 18. We suggest those under 18 bring a school ID or some other form of ID. The name on the account must match the ID.


IMPORTANT! - We are no longer accepting personal checks at the convention. For groups only - If this is an issue please contact us.

We do accept - Visa, Master and Discover Card

We do not accept - American Express

We do accept - Cash at con only, Money orders, and any non personal check (business etc)


At Convention Registration Hours - Hours are always subject to change depending on when equipment is working etc.

-Registration is in Hall D of the convention center this year.

-Doors close at the closing time but we always finish the registrations for those in our lines.

-These times are Central Time Zone

Thursday - 4pm-10pm(this has changed form 3pm due to setup time) This is open to ALL forms of Registration. In previous years this was only Will-Call. Another change to thin out our line on Friday.
Friday - 7am-10pm
Saturday - 7am-6:30pm
Sunday - 8am-4pm

This is a great system and I really like the idea of bathroom passes. Great idea!

And...about mailing? >.< Is that going to be after April 1st?

We would like to clarify something in my post. with the "will call registration"

This is registration between April 2nd-April 15th which cannot be upgraded to mailing and will be picked up at the will call section of registration. All registrations that have not paid the $1.50 to upgrade to mailing are "will call".

If you would like to upgrade your account to mailing and have already registered you still can! Email ACenReg09@ACen.org and let us know. Send us your request with your login name! We do not need your password. And we will go into your account and add it so you can later log in and pay the $1.50. This can only be upgrade until April 1st!!!!

I agrees with them: bathroom passes are a brilliant idea (esp. after seeing people pass out in the line last year)

Maybe have vendors selling small snacks and drinks walking around the lines would help too. I remember feeling soooo dehydrated last year (and envious of those with chips or whatnot)

What is defined as the first wave?

vendors cannot sell food because of our contract with the hotel/convention center.

only the attendee who is using the badge may purchase the badge (except in a childs case of course)

Mega kudos to you and your staff Bloo! Everything sounds really spectacular. I look forward to seeing Hall D, I don't think I've ever been in that one! I've only been in the big boy (hall A) and the one upstairs. I'm excited about the splitting up of the lines, especially the special needs one :) I think that is going to really improve things.

We are only accepting mail in payments until April 1st. anyone paying between April 2nd-15th must pay online via debit/credit.

Did you pay to have your badge mailed? If you did not your badge will be at Will-Call and will be waiting for you at the convention. If you wanted badge mailing and if you sent out your payment before April 1st your badge will be mailed.

one question, where is the obtion to pay or i have to send an email??, because i haven't pay and i have no clue how to, and another thing can i buy a one day pass and get my badge or i have to buy the 3 day pass in order to get my badge??

When you log into the system for your badge registration, there should be a bunch of options to the left hand of your screen. One of these options is "Badge Info". You should be able to enter your badge information there. Make sure to submit and save it when you're done. :)

If you are creating an account you need to type in your information and then badge information. After you do that the menus should appear on the left and the option to pay is under the attendee menu.

If you're returning to the system the pay option should be under the Attendee menu. After clicking on it you should be able to select paying online or by the mail.

do we have to purchase a full weekend in order to get the badge or i can just get the badge when i go on that specific day?

You can get a one day only badge at the con..
The online reg. is for the Full weekend badge only, this is from the first post in this thread.

Yes, you have to get your Sat. badge at the con. The reg hours and other info like prices and what you need to bring are also posted in the first post.

i should have stated my question better. what i meant was that i registered for tier 1 and sent in a payment thru the mail. i am still currently showing unpaid. my question is if my payment does go thru, will i owe money or do i have to send in a totally different payment

Ok, for mailed in payments the tier system goes by the postmark date for pricing. Meaning if the envelope you sent in was postmarked before or on the date the tier 1 ended, according to the first post dates you will not owe any more money.

That means that just entering your information into the system before the date does not count as being in that tier. It has to be paid in full by CC or postmarked by that tier cutoff date.

So when did you mail your payment? This can help in determining the answer to if you owe any more money.
