So I just signed up on this site called Twitter. Its not bad actually. I enjoy this. Talk about what you're doing now at home, work or just wherever. If you want to twitter me, just look for me under excel excel. I mostly use my cell phone on this. So now I have facebook and twitter! Anyone else?

I also have it hooked up to my phone where if a random thought passes me by I can document it.

It's not a bad site for keeping track of progress or documenting your day.

I have a twitter for my station, not personally. It seems to be great for commercial networking but it also seems to be repetitive with a lot of other services out there. I have mixed feelings about it, but everyone else uses it so it's guilt by association lol

There's a lot of buzz about it in the library world so I just signed up, KnitChick1979. I don't use it a lot yet, but I do have a couple friends set up that update to my phone via SMS (when I actually HAVE a working phone, bloody Sprint!). But I use Facebook more, right now. I also gotta get around to joining Second Life, there's a lot of library buzz about that too. Darn career making me do more fun stuff online!!!

Twitter is fun. It's like an instant blog. Basically identical to Facebook's status feature. I enjoy it because it can be updated through Firefox addons and my cell phone. My Twitter is Sunwell.

Yes, but it's an "instant blog" because updates are meant to be quick, only 140 characters and almost instant message-like.

I personally think that twitter is going to be very short lived. It just does not have enough to offer. Facebook and Myspace both have features that Twitter has.

I love my twitter. I follow Neil Gaiman and he's great. It's even better when Niel Gaiman, Amanda Palmer and Amber Benson have a conversation. Then my brain explodes.

I've thought about getting an account, but so far then only thing I think I would use it for is conventions (boring daily life is boring). I figure it would be perfect to keep track of what I've done at a con. Curse hotels that charge for the internet! >_> Though I also want to wait till I get a better phone. Mine's kind of old school. They talk about the twitter pages of bands on Q101, and I wonder if the actual start fills these out or their publicist.

From what I have seen, the bigger bands signed bands have publicists that fill them. Smaller indie bands can't afford publicists so they fill them out themselves. The one exception I have seen so far is Trent Reznor. He seems to know what's up with the whole social marketing world.

Another thought... Bands are starting to use the "Pages" section of facebook heavily. Since they allow status updates, there is a lot of good information tied to them. A lot of promos as well.
