In Pokémon Battle Revolution, it makes all the pokémon the same level, so you don't have to worry about "omg what level are your guys?". The only thing people have to prepare is a team - not worrying about levels.
Plus Pokémon Battle Revolution is visually pleasing, and it will allow onlookers to enjoy the action as well =]
I greatly encourage the use of PBR. If lack of the disc is a problem, I can totally provide.
Also, there are fighting game tourney rules - are Pokémon tourney rules going to be posted? If you want me to generate a suggestion, I'd be happy to do so.

So just a question about SFIV, if playing on a console, are there going to be Arcade Sticks or at least Fight Pads? Because the standard controllers totally suck for playing that game. PS3 is a little more bearable, but the 360 controller is right out.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core - Sat. 5:30PM-7:00PM
I'm not sure if you're aware but Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is due out on April 7 for the PS2. Perhaps you should use Plus instead of Accent Core since it has bug fixes, rebalances, and tune ups from the previous version. Don't know what they are in detail yet.

Actually, it was on PBR last year; very cool. It was a little slow between battles, but with proper planning that should be avoidable. My buddy and I are really looking forward to it!

BE ON TIME FOR THE TOURNAMENTS AND BE AT THE STATION WHEN YOUR NAME IS CALLED.
We're all about using every possible second we have, so be at the station within 2 minutes (maybe even less, depending on the circumstances) or you will be out. No exceptions. =3

I wanted to make sure everyone knew, or atleast make everyone aware of, some rules competitive pokemon players abide by..
No Ubers (list provided below)
Sleep Clause (Only one pokemon on each team can be put to sleep by the opponent at a time, if the pokemon uses a move like rest, it doesn't count)
Evasion Clause (You can't use moves that raise your evasion, like Double Team and Minimize, moves like Sand-Attack that lower accuracy are okay. Pokemon with abilities like Sand Veil or items like Brightpowder are okay to use aswell)
OHKO Clause (Fissure, Sheer Cold, and Horn Drill are banned)
Species clause (Only one type of pokemon to each team, so you can't have two Scizors, or a Scizor and a Scyther)
Uber List
Arceus
Darkrai
Deoxys (All forms)
Dialga
Garchomp
Giratina (All forms)
Groudon
Ho-oh
Kyogre
Latios
Lugia
Manaphy
Mew
Mewtwo
Palkia
Rayquaza
Wobuffet
Wynaut
I wasn't sure if everyone knew or not, so I wanted to say.

I dont think we have a confirmation on whos running the tournament yet, let alone the rules... last year it was a doubles battles with a lot of last minute/PBR specific rules that really changed the tournament as a whole.
As far as the UBER list you posted, its accurate as of now (latios voting has started yet) but it should be noted that Latias is only allowed WITHOUT Soul Dew...which is technically an item only allowed in UBERS.

DDR / ITG tournament:
There is not a discussion going on about it (yet). There is however, a rule that will be in place this year.
- You may ONLY participate in DDR or ITG, not both.
If you are amazing, enter ITG. If you have trouble with 10's, enter DDR. Sandbagging will be handeled on a case-by-case.
In all likelyhood, The DDR / ITG tournys will be PA; Perfect Attack. If you are unfamiliar, in PA Perfects are worth x, Greats are worth y, everything else below Great is not counted.
ALL rules for ALL tournaments will be gone over and explained at the beggining of each respective tournament. Not every tourny will be discussed here on the boards. At con, if you have questions ask any VG staffer at the staff table in the VG room.

Having ran the DDR tournament last year, and the Pump tournament the last two years I can give a little snippet of how DDR has worked in the past.
There's generally a round of qualifiers then a single elimination bracket. When I ran it last year, I refused to do any recalculation due to pad errors (and there generally will be pad errors) because of time constraints, but compensated by giving the higher seed of the players their choice of sides. I also ran qualifier then 16 man elimination, but we were scheduled for two hours last year. I'd expect this to be an 8 man single-elimination at this point.
Kane - If I might make a suggestion to help enforce the "only entering DDR or ITG" rule. Shift the start of DDR ahead by 30 minutes or so (4:30 to 6:00, as opposed to 5:00 - 6:30) to force a scheduling conflict between both tournaments. ITG is a considerably harder game than DDR, and many of the top 16 players from last year were throwing their early matches to jump over to the ITG tournament.
If anyone wants to know how I ran Pump the last two years, go ahead and ask. Very different game with a very different focus.
