Wow...I really....don't even know what to say to that xD

I knew he was popular there because a town (I THINK it's a town at least) is called 'Obama' but this is pretty crazy

Yep. There is a place called Obama, Japan. They have everything Obama related there. They have a character drawing of him too. In Japanese Obama means "little beach."

The obama vs Vader made me laugh. xD I'm not really surprised with anything to do with Obama anymore. Though the fact he's in a manga is just.. wow. But yeah, there is a town called Obama. I think it's a fishing town. In the Anime Insider magazine they had a picture of an Obama gift shop with I  Obama stuff everywhere.

lawling so hard!! I wanna go to Obama, Japan now.

The night of the inauguration I went to the small party at my wine bar hangout, and we all threw shoes at Bush, whose face was pinned to a balloon. Oh the memories.

"Obama-kun" has been a reappearing character in the Yatterman anime for some time now. Hilary makes an appearance as his childhood love interest, and McCain as his adulthood rival, too.

I'm seriously beginning to acquire a case of Obama Derangement Syndrome. I expect that the Prez will be all over the press, but when he starts invading my frigging manga, that's it.

If he shows up in the next Evangelion manga, I'm moving to Dutch Harbor and asking the Hillstrands for a job. Any job.

No, because we don't need a cult of personality in this country.

Bush did things. Whether or not you agreed with him or not, he did things. Obama has done nothing to merit all this beside speak well and grin widely. It's nothing less than hysteria. If people want to go nuts praising Obama for curing the economy, winning the war in Afghanistan, and generally making the world a shiny happy place, do it after he's done it.

And frankly, that frightens me. If Obama ordered the arrest of everyone who voted against him tomorrow, how many would actually obey such a crazy order? The answer should be "nobody," but after seeing all of this, and listening to Hollywood celebs pledging their alleigiance to Obama--not the country, but Obama--you have to wonder.

This has ceased being funny, people. Now it's simply insane.

I'm not praising Obama, but looking at it from a worldwide standpoint, (not from a what they have or have not done) I would rather the world view the president of the United States of America as a smart and powerful man. I'm not so sure that the world viewed Bush as that. I mean look at any form of America media. All of them have taken shots at Bush. All of them have laughed and mocked him in some way or another. How does that look on us that we elected this man president not once, but twice. Not that isn't all his fault, but some of it was the way he carried himself and the way he spoke.

yes, but they're not. They might start at some point, but right now Obama is getting nothing but positive attention aside from a few hardcore republicans still bitter that McCain lost.

I say just let the man do his job, praise him and shower him with love once he's made the change he promises. As they say in the south "Don't count your chickens before they hatch." I'm happy so many people are joyful that they have a hope now, I'm glad people are rejoicing, but there comes a point where the line is crossed, let him get to his job and just watch and see what happens.

LOL that is the best presidential action figure EVAR.

OK, but seriously. I'm super happy that we have a President that can speak well, has a +7 in Charisma, and what seems to be at least a +5 in Diplomacy just like the rest of the country is, but for the love of all that is sacred,

CAN WE PLEASE GIVE THE MAN 100 DAYS BEFORE WE ACT LIKE HE HAS DONE SOMETHING BESIDES BECOME THE FIRST NON-WHITE PRESIDENT OF THE FRICKIN' UNITED STATES?!?

God dang it, he's a bigger celebrity than Reagan and Kennedy combined--you'd think the man was Jesus! I have a degree of hope and at least a little faith in him, but I'm SO tired of hearing his name, and I voted for him!!

I mean granted, the history-making thing is a big thing, but so far that's all he really has under his belt and all you can do with that is put it in the history books. Let him work, and then grade him by that. Hyping him up to be some miracle worker when he hasn't even been PRESIDENT for 7 whole days is just a bit overbearing, and it's just building people up to most likely be sorely disappointed.

Felf, I hate to tell you this, but most of the world doesn't like America no matter who we elect President. Why? We're top dog. We're the last superpower, and a lot of people would like to see us fall, for the same reason they wanted the British to go under, the French before them, and the Spanish before the French, all the way back to the Babylonians.

The Russians don't like us because they have the world's largest inferiority complex. The Chinese don't like us because they have the world's largest superiority complex. Radical Islam doesn't like us because we're not like them. Western Europe doesn't like us because they're increasingly irrevelant, they know it, and they can't stand it.

We elect leaders in this country based on what's best for us, not what's best for France, Saudi Arabia, or China. They do the same, as they should. Funny how it is that only the US has to past the "global test" on our leaders. The French don't care what the world thinks when they elect Sarkozy, the Russians don't give a damn what the people of Canada think of Putin. But we're supposed to bend over backwards and elect someone the world is okay with? Since when?

And we also don't elect leaders because of what a handful of Ivy League dropouts in the media want. These are the same idiots who did everything they could to sabotage things in Iraq because it didn't fit the narrative, and the same ones who had public orgasms over Obama on the air but still claimed to be "fair." Gore was their boy, and when Bush beat him, they couldn't handle it like the spoiled children they are. And you can bet that once Obama does something they don't like, they'll turn on him with the same hyena-like savagery they treated Bush.

We elect leaders that the people want. Obama is that man. I want to think he was elected because the American people thought he was the best for the job, not because the rest of the world thinks he's a rock star or because the media thinks they know what's best for all 36 million of us. The American people also elected Bush twice because they thought he was the best man for the job, not because the rest of the world thought he was a simpleton or because the media just couldn't get over that he won in 2000.

If you want the media to start dictating how we live our lives, wave bye-bye to ACen. Remember that MSNBC report that so grossly distorted anime fans as being all perverted otaku? That's the same network who is leading the Obamagasm. They hold commoners in contempt. That's the people you want telling us who to elect?!

I dont think most people, even celebs have been that extreme. I remember Ashton Kutcher clearly saying before he joined the Obama camp, he was on the fence and maybe leaning toward McCain because like alot of people his stance chances from either conservative or liberal depending on the subject. I forgot which one swayed him towards Obama, I think it was finance and how Obama seemed way more conservative about spending than McCain.

I'm pretty sure ppl like Obama because it makes them "feel" better that he's president because America gets a ton of flack for pretending to be so open minded and progressive and talking about how "anyone" can become whatever they want, when in reality, american society is clearly unbalanced and the same dynasties of leadership tend to stay on a pretty constant rotation. Noone ever expected someone who looks like Obama to become president, and for all those immigrants and people who're starting to realize the truth--that streets are paved with gold/anyone who works hard can pull themself up from poverty to wealth in America is BS, Obama being president makes them feel like there's still a chance it's possible? Atleast, that's what I think people are so excited about Obama for. Personally, most people I know are annoyed at the rapid Obama fans, too but I think everyone is relieved to not have such an embarrassing, screw up as president anymore.

That's probably a big part of it, too. Bush gave Obama such a good lead in that it's hard not to be excited about a change up a fter 8 years of that guy. I think Colbert has been teasing the press about going so soft on Obama.
I defintely subscribe to that saying "People get the leader they deserve" instead of them being elected because "the people wanted it", though. Americans were scared and making stupid decisions after 9/11 so they blindly supported Bush and fell for his scare tactics. We got what we deserved for hoping out headstrong uncle with the shotgun would just take care of and protect us. I dont think it's just "america's the best so everyone's jealous." That's part of it, but it doesnt help that Americans elect a leader who ignores the UN and burns international bridges at every turn.
