Hajimemashite.
I will use the name Suigetsu here. This is by no way related to Naruto in anyway. Suigetsu is a phrase in Japanese that indicates the illusion the moon casts on a water's suface. I am 22 years old, soon to be 23. I am male, and I have been going to ACEN for a few years now.
I have a good deal of Japanese under my belt. I've lived on the other side for a while for several study abroad programs. I have done small translations and have been an interpreter before. I am at the level where I read Japanese novels in the language. Currently I am working on some fan game translations.

Omg I understood the leet reference! Nice to meet you too ^.^ and welcome to ze forums. I'm 19 and in college. I would be learning japanese, but my college only has french/german/spanish and im taking french and I learn Japanese on the side ^^;;

Becareful, I am rather sensitive about the language. There was really no reason for you to have said that. You could have just said "hi", or, hey! I've got an idea. Why not even open your mouth? Next time you just want to put in your cheap 2 cents worth, walk on by. Okay?

Sorry? I just wanna say hi but I can't relate to the topic. (and aside from language you didn't put other info about yourself like what anime and/or other hobbies you like)
I would like Japanese (and maybe French and German and Korean and...) more if I didn't have a speech problem that prevents me from pronouncing certain things. Learning English was hard enough for me (and I still constantly get made fun of by friends). It's good you are passionate about Japanese but I'm sure there's also other things you also enjoy that I can relate more to.
So aside from language (which I'm sure you are good at) what other things do you like?

Indeed. I like cinnimon (sp) and the likes; was never really into anything with oatmeal but they're okay if its all you have. Pocky is fine but over-rated. There is never enough save a taste.

Exactly! I do enjoy the rich pocky, but I cant see why so many people obsess over it. I mean, its good once in a while but not enough to obsess over. Now German Chocolate is something to obsess over!
Or Mint Oreo Blizzards...
I'm actually a huge fan of languages. I know a little German, Spanish, and Japanese and Ive taken about 5 classes of French!

Welcome! **storms off jealously** I'm starting to learn Japanese. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to devote to it.

Self Study Japanese FTW. I've JUST started, so I just know the basics. I might take it in college tho. I plan to visit Japan in 1-3 years. Kyoto, Osaka, Toyko maybe.

Self-study is the only way to do it. When you get to your first class you will feel like a god.
