I've already paid for my ticket and the hotel will be forthcoming...

If you need a lift and you live in Iowa, or along Illinois 20 (Rockford, Elgin, et al) post up.

If I need to leave the highway and drive more than 15 miles to get you I might throw a small charge your way(buy me a gatorade, some snacks, or lunch, heck 5$ would work).

Post up don't be shy... I don't have a ton of room as I drive a truck (It's an extended cab sho it's mostly comfy for 4) but I'll have lot's of room for cosplay bits in either direction.

If no one posts up... screw you all I'm gonna be stingy and take my motorcycle...

I usually leave mid-day Wednesday or TDE Thursday before Acen to get there...

I'm the creepy old guy... no really...

I'm male and 30... and still into anime and most folks that know think it's rather sad.

All the guys I'm going with are between the ages of 23 and I'm the oldest by 4 years at 30... Tis why I didn't even offer to share the room I have even though at most there'll be 3 of us... and I sleep on the floor.


Anyone of the opposite gender wishing to go can do so... take whatever steps you feel necessary to defend yourselves... yes, I'm an immature jerk... no I'm not a predator.

Which goes to show how much forethought I put into this... I.E. none...

Anyone under the age of 18 I guess can't go, unless I have a document from your folks saying you're allowed to.... me being over the age of 17 and bringing you to another state without parental permission I've been advised can be considered a felony...

Parental meetings are fine if that's a must... Last year I escorted my 15 year old cousin about the place and kept her out of trouble... (nice guy/knight in shining armor type complex if you want to boil it down...)

I'm in Coralville, I know its off the beaten path BUT I'm willing to pay gas, etc. My boyfriend might come along as well, so there's two of us.

There's also other things to present themselves, as in we're in the town that Anime Iowa is in and we only live a few blocks away from that conference hotel so you may be able to stay with us for that (free boarding! hurrah!)
We haven't paid for our tickets quite yet we're still in the planning stages. As for room, we were gonna end up getting a hotel room in the doubletree, but if we could pay our part to stay in your room that'd be swell as well.

Well that'll work. I talked to the guy that put the room on his card and he's OK with sharing. Heck if you all could put me up for AI for a nominal fee that would work fine...

As for being off the beaten track you're about two hours from me so that'll add about 4 hours to my trip. Not an issue but when the time get's closer if we could coordinate (like maybe getting you the night before so I wouldn't have to drive 7 hours in one day)...

We've got a little time to work out the logistics.

For AI, as long as you don't mind the couch or futon you can stay for free. It's a small walk to the hotel (i just googled it and it says 2.2 miles but it totally doesn't seem that long to me ._.;

Well I've got a rough idea of how it will go to get everyone. I'll swing down to Coralville (Tande) and then shoot over to Ottumwa(Faye Lee) and then make the trek back to close the loop.

If no one is opposed to the plan I would like to do this on Wednesday afternoon/night. Thursday get up semi-early and roll on out between 9 and 10 in the morning... We should get there depending the breaks in driving about check in time (2pm).

If anyone has any issues with the plan please let me know by Friday. By Sunday please have final directions (I'm using google maps)/addresses/phone numbers to me via e-mail or private message.

BTW something to nibble on would be greatly appreciated. A full on lunch would be lauded wildly and accepted graciously, though you might want to discuss likes/dislikes/food allergies before going all out.

Just figured I'd chime in and say "hi" since FINALLY remembered my login to the forums.
I actually used to live in Coralville when I was really really young.

Anyways I'll probably be seeing most of you at some point since your riding with him.

We still have space in our room if anyone needs a place, the more the merrier, otherwise its just teh 3 of us guys who've known each other foreer staring at each other when not running around like idiots.

Sounds like you guys have quite the adventure set up here. I can't wait to hear the stories:)

Well folks I sent out notes to everyone, BunniGummi has dropped out unfortunately, ann neither of her friend replacements has contacted me in any way.

FayeLee Darkclaw has also not contacted me in anyway and I have even tried the MACSproductions mass mailing address...

Tande though HAS gotten back to me and will be rewarded with a ride too and from ACEN.



There is still time though I will be on the road within an hour and the folks I'm looking to pick up all live south and west of my location.
