Reg starts setup weds(no attendee volunteers on weds though)/thursday morning. As does AA/EH. No idea about other depts.

Yes, please give us some time to wrap up this year's Acen before we start looking at the next. Some of us are still unpacking! I know you're anxious to get rolling but we're all dead tired and brain dead (at least I am).

Ok so I would like to help out if I could, I have a bs in marketing, a real degree, I could use some of the experience for a resume if it is relevant, however being involved I also like to compete in masquerade and often staffing persons are not allowed due to rules, I live near Fort Wayne Indiana, we have ikasucon that came from Cincy four years ago I know many from anime 101 help out at acen and attend, anime 101 is the Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne anime club. SO my question is how does marketing affect cosplay rules for masquerade, and do you have need of someone like me, a trained but semi green marketing graduate. I am able to do marketing plans and conduct some research to a degree.

Do you have something I can assist you with?

As far as I know, from my time in MP there are no rules that bar people from being in the Masquerade that are also on staff. But always check with your DH first.

The above link also has a link to the staff sign-up so if you're interested in joining staff, I'd fill that out and talk with the chief of staff. :]

Hello, I went to that volunteer link that was posted in the post above me, and when I looked at the Tear Down Crew sign-up form, it said Tear Down ONLY. Does this mean it doesn't include Set-up as well?

I'm a film and video major, so I look for any experience I can in setting up and tearing down. I've been looking into doing this since I first attended ACen last year, so I just wanted to know if Tear Down volunteers still include Set-Up as well.

I am referring to titles I have made (I.E. animations with ACEN's logos, possible video intro animations for events like anime hell or the masquerade). I have a demo animation I can email you to give a better Idea if need be.

Hmm.... I think your best bet is to email mainprogramming @ acen.org (without the spaces of course). I'm not 100% positive but if I'm wrong, they'll know who to point you to. :)

hm, I'll give it a try, I've already emailed their volunteers, video programming and panel programing addresses to which I have received no responses. I have been at trying to find someone to contact for a month now :( , Hopefully Ill get an answer from mainprogramming.

Staff members are required to work at least 24 hours during the convention, be at least 18 years-old and have a much wider range of responsibilities.


Volunteers (formerly gophers) only need to be of 16 years-old, can work however much or as little as they want and have very little responsibilities than staff members. Typically, volunteers will be assisting staff members in their duties.

For registration volunteers direct lines, do small errands, run for print jobs, etc.

Staff are the only ones who will be touching a computer, register, or badges.
