what is this masquerade ball?, am i supposed to cosplay for this? cuz if i do im thinking code geass zero costume would be great for it

The masquerade ball is a formal ball . So it's formal outfits , you can cosplay ,but it has to be formal cosplay , like one of Sailor Scout's princess dresses .
ACEN 09 cosplay
Battle outfit Ichigo - Tokyo Mew Mew
Manga Bride outfit Makoto- Sailor Moon
ACEN '10 cosplay:
Espeon (Friday and Sunday)
, Princess Kakyuu from Sailor Moon, Euphie (wedding outfit from Code Geass (both Saturday)
ACEN '11cosplay:
Friday : Flareon Gijinka Saturday:Eternal Sailor Jupiter,Bride Princess Euphemia(?), Kiki (?) Sunday Belldandy

Hello! I'm sorry if someone's asked this already, but how formal is formal? Like floor length prom dress? Or like going to a wedding type of formal?
