If you wish to swim.

I dunno... xD
I can't swim anyway so if I do go I'll just flop around the sand and wade in the shallow water.
Oops can't afford to go to ACEN anymore! >:

Honestly the water isn't deep at all. I saw 3 years olds go in the water.

Also I would highly recommended bringing your swimsuit because you will defintely want to get in the water.

@Xenida:
I recommended Indiana Dunes State Park:

http://www.duneland.com/parks/idsp.htm

1600 North 25 East
Chesterton, Indiana 46304
(219) 926-1952

It has a food and souvenirs stand. Plus the walk isn't as far from the parking lot to the beach ^^

I call them up and they said it will be 10 dollars per car, but if you bring people with, then can help you out with the parking.

I have a feeling too xD

Also food wise, remeber last time when we brought food. Most of the food had sand in it because of people carelessness. Since the food stand is in a building with table and chairs, then it will be easier to actually eat food without worrying about sand going on the food.

as long as everyone keeps the food and people seperate it should be okay. Coolers and what not keep the sand out...

i don't recommend going to the beach at this time. there are really really bad rip tides and a strong underwater currents. the deep tunnels in chicago are full of sewage/water because of the funky things going on in lake michigan.
most beaches are actually closed for the season because of it.

It is open still after Labor day they have different hours and the lifeguard is only on duty during the summer season. The good thing is they only charge the fee during the summer. Here is a link with the info for the West beach

If I go I would be willing to pick up a few people because I have a truck that can fit at least 5-6 with out my third row seat and if I put the third row seat in I could fit at least two to three more people in (all depending on how intimate people wanted to get).

Hmm... if I could get a ride that'd be amazing as it's about an hour from my house which will inevitably result in my dad refusing to take me.

I'd also be willing to pitch in some money for gas since it's so ridiculously expensive nowatdays...

Hell no! And yes that is the beach we went to. The extra $4 is not worth it. It is more crowded despite being like 3 times as big. Plus the lifeguards seemed a lot stricter. They yelled at someone and made an announcement on the loud speaker for someone going too far, which wasn't really far at all.

The other beach worked well, it was small and comfy. Easy to find the group (just not the beach lol). So I defiantly vote we go back there.

The beach will be open on the 6th, I check with the information office at the Indiana Dunes. As of right now, we are going to the West Beach, there are less people and hopefully everyone will find it, since most of us have been there before.

If people are trying to carpool with each other, I suggest meeting at a mall in your general area, this way it's easier to find.
