Mary and myself created a meetup last year in downtown Naperville. The event is called The Last Fling. It's a weekend full of music, carnival rides and stands, and lots of food stands. We're planning it for one day so don't worry about going back and forth going there. We are thinking of placing it on either a Saturday or Sunday, we don't have an official word yet. It would be a lot of fun. I don't recommend cosplay for this event, but you may wear convention related stuff (anime shirts, cat ears, tails, etc.). So basically the plan is get out there when the day starts, ride a couple rides, take random pictures, eat lunch, ride some more rides, do some carnival stands, and maybe end it off with a dinner. Last year we ate at an awesome pizza place. We might to there again, but it's tentative right now. Dates will be either August 30th or 31st.
O yeah, I forgot. I had footage from last year's last fling.

ohh yay thats my weekend off i guess it can be either or as long as if its on a sunday im not going to make it until after 1 because my mom after almost 27 yrs is still begging me to go to church and church lets out at 1 so anyway let me know im totally up for this if i can A)get a ride home for

Aw dang that's the weekend of the Welsh festival, my friends and I are planning on going Saturday but I think Sunday we're likely to be quite hung over since Sat nite there's a Welsh pub listed in the events. Phooey, I need some carnival fun!

Though I'll be back in school by then, seeing as it's Labor Day weekend both days would work out fine.

Is there like an address or something for this or a place I could put into a map website to figure out how far this is?
I always end up asking this question... but how far a place is from my house heavily affects whether or not my parents let me go. ><

It's in downtown Naperville. Technically you can take the Metra west to get there and walk a few blocks to get there.
Though now that it's on Saturday I don't have as much time to hang out with you guys, if I can go.

Last year everyone met up at the Barnes and Nobles bookstore since that's the easiest thing to find.
Here's the address:

I'm having trouble finding the right time because there's going to be very difficult to find any parking in the area since it's such a huge event. I'm probably going to say everyone meet at the bookstore at noon, but arrive there like 10 or 11am just to give everyone enough time to sworm around the place to find at least a parking spot. For those taking the train, there is a Metra that goes to Naperville by taking the Metra Burlington Northern Santa Fe Line (Chicago to Aurora service). As for buses, II think you need to take the 714 bus all the way down towards downtown Naperville.

Meetup time has changed. Suggested by Mary, we will be meeting at the Barnes and Nobles store in between 9-9:30am. This is due to parking opportunities since the whole event will be overly populated and it will be extremely hard to find a parking spot.

Surprisingly enough my parents aren't that freaked out after yesterday's tomfoolery. So it seems that my brother and I are all clear to go to this.
Since we'll have to probably take the Metra we won't be able to stay till all hours of the night though... seeing as it doesn't run forever like the Blue Line does. So I'm kind of glad to see the time become earlier...

Ugh, I move back in at school this weekend, but if I manage to come back for that weekend, I'll totally be there! I was home last year for it... And I think one of my roommates is coming back up to the Ville that weekend... So I should be able to catch a ride :3
