Looks like Afro Samurai will be getting a sequel

This is anime that made doing my Chemistry homework look not only fun, but borderline attractive.

Hey, if junk like this is getting a sequel, I want a sequel for one of my favorite animes.

I DEMAND A SEQUEL FOR HAIBANE RENMEI!!!

So I get the feeling you don't like this series? I've never seen it myself.
But I do agree a sequel for Haibane Renmei would be sweet...

You mean her early days as a Haibane?

I'm not so sure that a sequel or prequel [to Haibane Renmei] would be capable of living up to the original. Even with the original crew, it would probably feel like an attempt to milk some money out of the fans--kind of like the sequels to Mai-Otome.

I dunno. I liked Afro Samurai.

It was weird, it was quirky, and it stole shamelessly from Ninja Scroll, but it was fun to watch.

I think the whole point to Haibane-Renmei was that their earlier lives didn't matter.

But I was kind of "meh" about Afro Samurai. I'm probably going to ignore the sequel just like I ignored the original series.

Actually I had ment Reki's life before Raka's appearance, when Reki was a younger Haibane like what was hinted at in flashbacks during the show.

Is there ninja series that hasn't stole shamelessly from Ninja Scroll?
I was entertained by the show and it was far better then most of the crap aired on TV. As for the it not being Anime do to its not being from Japan, anime is a name for a style of animation now. Anime has its start in the US and Anime's influence is now coming back to influence the US animation industry. It is no difference then Punk music going to England then coming back to the US later and changing the face of music here.

It was entertaining. I will probably watch the sequel. As Sent stated it was quirky and fun to watch.

The statement about it not being anime because it's not from Japan is hilarious.

or are we suppose to disregard the last 2 episodes?

(the onl thing i didn't like about cowboy bebop was that it was too short!)

how about some more ghost in the shell or something by CLAMP, i have never been wronged by CLAMP

Right now CLAMP has Tusbasa and XXXHolic, these are the most receant. But I wouldn't mind them finishing the RG Veda anime that they started.

"Dear God, Why?!?!?" is taking it a bit overboard, you should use it when describing another Neon Genesis Evangelion movie, like they would ever do that...right?....or-or a Gurren Lagann movie that recaps the first half of the series, I mean, no one is that stupid....right?

Anyway, the series was enjoyable, I don't get why people thought this was going to be a masterpiece or anything like that, it was just here for, well...entertainment. Remember? When things were there just for you to have fun?

Sent had it right, it was odd but fun to watch. The series ended at a cliffhanger, if anyone seriously didn't know there was going to be a sequel after watching the series, then, well, sorry, I have to say it. ERRRRR.

Also, another ERRRR goes to the person who said this was not anime. It was originally a doujinshi manga created by Takashi Okazaki and was featured in the NOU NOU HAU dojin magazine. Since anime is titled from it's origin, which is Japan.

Spoiler

I believe in the Doctor.

It's also worth noting that Spike may not have died in the last episode of Bebop. He'd survived worse injuries. The directing crew of Bebop have also stated that they'd love to do a second series, so there's a good chance Spike could be still around.

Besides, it's anime. Characters are dead only if the manga-ka or director says they are. Takahashi "killed" Kikyo I think four times before finally doing her in for good (and then only because I think enough fans had gotten through to her that she wasn't fooling anyone and Inuyasha was clearly going to choose Kagome). Rei got--or should have--got cacked twice in Eva.

Well, if you count the fact that the original manga-ka was Japanese, you can say it is anime.

The director said that Spike could be still alive. While I agree that yes, his star went out, it would not be all that difficult to bring him back, if there was public demand. Whether or not this would be a good idea? I don't know.

And actually Rei died thrice. (Strangled by Ritsuko's mother, committed suicide to save Shinji, and then absorbed by Lillith.) That's not counting all the Rei clones killed by Ritsuko herself. Pay more attention.

I, for one, am not in favor of Spike coming back. I think that the story worked out well with him dying in the end, and if a producer would come up to me pitching that idea I would slap him/her, it would just feel like too much of a money milker, where else do they have to go from after the series? Sure they could do a prequel, but it isn't hard to figure out what happened in everyone's past. They could go into the future, but then it would be a bunch of bounties and we would have a show full of fillers, a plot basically saying that they will get bounties so that they can live their lives. Overall they would take an acceptable series and would bring it downhill.
