...Okay, I'm REALLY sorry that I'm ruining such an epic mood, but...

It's continued to bug me, especially since I now know that Himayura specifically based Germany off of the WWII Germany(and that his "boss" is, in fact, that "rather eccentric guy"_{lolprofilequote}), and, erm, I kept feeling continually worse/better about it until I'm here. Again.

_{I mean, yeah, I could just go as Germany, but....I still can't help but feel kind of bad about it because of my heritage and family and etc D:}

So, to avoid more emo Jewish ramblings, I'd at least like a backup. In case I decide to completely chicken out and not do Germany at all _{which I really wanted to do for my beloved Russia and the fact that I've never done a main character before DDDD:}

I was hoping I could do another country whose language group includes at least German, mostly because of what I've learned already and I have a really good friend who is a foreign exchange student, but here are the alternate choices I've decided on(in descending order of possibility):

Lithuanua(if Rika-chan ends up doing Sealand), Finland/Sweden(whichever one Cherry Wolf ends up not doing), South Korea, Sealand(if Rika-chan ends up doing Lithuania), Ukraine_=D, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Seychelles.

But, yeah, this is only after I do a LOT more thought about it. Also, suggestions would be really appreciated :'D *hides*

I'm sorry DDD:

I was really hoping to be Lithuania, too =D Lithuania is a great country with a fascinating culture and language(I found out a lot about it from my grandfather, who was Lithuanian), AND I love his APH character XDD The only reason why I don't want to do Belarus is because it doesn't look like Ukraine has been done yet(as far as I can find, anyway), but also because of Meido aaand I'd either have to get a huge wig or dye ALL of hair blonde--even if it's the temporary dye I might have to buy three bottles ;_; _{althoughtheremightbefunnyLiet/Belascenes. XD;}

Well, that's part of the reason why I don't want to do it--because I'd be giving a huge part of my heritage the finger D: Edit: Wait, I kind of see what you mean now. Like, showing that I'm not afraid or something? That actually makes me feel a ton better =DDDD *energetic now*

Also, this definitely doesn't mean I'm NOT going to be him, so don't take me off the list as him. It just means that it's less likely. But until I hear back from Rika-chan and Cherry Wolf I'm not going to make any definite decisions.

Edit: Oh, and I had an idea for one of the pictures: since we have so many people, a truly epic picture would be produced if we took a shot of everyone running towards the camera. We'd easily fill up the entire shot space XDD;

Another idea was having all the countries lie down in a circle, holding their flags up to about their chest, and a picture being taken from above. (inspired by, although not demonstrated by, this picture ) We could do that picture in groups, with ten countries in one circle at a time (first the main Axis + Allied powers, then the Baltic States/European countries/etc, and so on). It's just a couple of ideas, but...It really made me realize that I need to get around to buying a German flag <__<

(They don't even need to be THAT big. They could just be those tiny, waveable tourist flags XD; )

Oh! And another thing! I found a wonderful site where you can order flags ranging from small waveable ones to those big ones! (They have a 5'x8' in stock! o.O ) That, and they're pretty darn cheap! (The German "3ft x 5ft Superknit polyester" flag is about ten dollars! =DDD ) _{Unfortunately, they don't have some "old federation/organization/nation" flags, like the Soviet Union D:} [Edit: Wait, scratch that--they do!! But yeah, SpikedCurry, I know what you mean. Last year my cousins and I cosplayed as the Millennium Organization from Hellsing, and we were sort of conflicted because our family went through some crud around WW2 (the fact that her mom was like "omg i can't believe you're a NAZI!" made it a bit worse). But we just thought, "You know what? We AREN'T nazis. We're not GLORIFYING them in any way, shape, or form [and we didn't have swastikas]. All that we're doing is running around in a costume, for goodness' sake."

And it was totally fun and enjoyable!

So, I guess the point of the story is, do what feels right to you, but remember that it's just a costume. Because once you start seeing costumes (or books, or video games, or movies) as real life, that's when the trouble starts.

Aww. D: My friend's little sister who was 10 or so was permitted by her parents. It was her first cosplay, too--Kyon's Sister XD (My friend was the Kyon, of course. <__< ) And, ironically enough, that was ACen '08, where I was Mia Fey. XD;
