Taste Of Chicago Meetup Sunday June 28

Its time once again for the Taste of Chicago to be starting up. Taste of Chicago runs from June 27 thru July 3. Our meetup will take place Sunday June 29. Tickets are 12 for $8. They're cheaper at Dominick's if you buy them the week before the taste opens, 12 tickets for $6.00. I know that some of you might have to work on Sunday, so try and request this day off. Here is the website so you can see what restrauants are going to be there www.tasteofchicago.us

Alright here's the plan for Sunday, I will be arriving at the bean at 10am. I'll wait there until 10:30 then we will walk down to the Taste's entrance. If you're running late or need directions, call me and I will wait for you. People can also meet us at the Taste's entrance at 11am. The entrance to the Taste is Michigan Ave & Congress Drive, the map shows statues of a person riding a horse. We will meet at these statues.

Meet at the Taste's Entrance @ 11 near the "Horse & Rider" statue


Once again, be sure to bring plenty to drink and some suntan lotion. See you all in a couple of days

im going to wizard world on the 27th so and my sisters grad party is on the 28th i guess i can go to oh sunday is the 29th not the 28th hehehe its going to be a bit crowded so what time and where is the meet up place?

Yes it will be hot and crowded, so I don't recommend wearing a cosplay. I will like this_chick25 said will be wearing my kittie ears. For those of you who don't have my number, send me a message and I'll give it to you.

As far as when we are going to meetup, the Taste opens at 11, but I would like to meet before then. Let me hear your opinions, does everyone want to meet at the taste or somewhere like the bean and walk to the Taste?

Also don't forget to bring water and wear suntan lotion. We will be in the sun for some time, I don't want people turning red the next day.

Oooooh! I haven't been to the Taste in years! Definitely interested in this one! Pending transportation issues.

Are we going to walk around the Taste or pick a spot and picnic there? I recommend the latter just incase the group gets split up (since it will be crowded) and we have a central spot to meet at.

Everyone should meet at the entrance to the Taste, I know that this sounds general, but I haven't been there in a while, so I don't know any good landmarks. Most of us have eachothers phone numbers, so we can call each other.

Grah! I'd love to go with you guys but I've asked off too ,many days and I'm not getting many hours at work so I'll have to skip this meetup too. Man... And plus i might be going with my friends on some weekday so if anybody wants to hang out with us that'd be fine. Though I don't even kow if we're going or not :P

I might be dragging my mommy along ^_^ (we like foooooood)
Don't expect anything too recognizable. I might acruire neko ears by then that aren't huge so I might have those...
I say let's meet on Congress and Michigan (For those not in the know it's where the two NATIVE AMERICAN statues are on horses.) by one of the two horses. That's a pretty recognizable landmark. Not much shade though or seating for those who may think they'll be waiting for a while. but techinically that is the enterance.
