I'd like to say a special "You're awesome!" to the IRT fox guy who was managing the line for Whose Line is it Anime on Saturday. I didn't catch the name on his badge but he was wearing a tail and fox/cat ears. He was amazing and kept the quickly-growing line organized and entertained. Many many kudos to him!

As a staffer and ADH, I want to say thank you to all of the IRT people I saw go past my department's rooms - I love knowing that even though we're tucked away in the corner of the basement they still keep an eye on us

I hate it how every year the IRT staff are treated like crap. And considering the situation this year, you guys did an amazing job! I was very nervous my replica revolver wouldn't be allowed, and I was politely stopped by an IRT staffer on my way to the weapons check. He walked me down to the room, and the guys in the room were amazed at the quality of my prop, and made sure to tag it in a way I could do the revolver tricks, which are a key part of my character. I was never given a problem, and unlike last year, where I encountered a rare few rude IRTs, everyone on the staff this year seemed way more polite, and again, I think took too much BS from idiots... This was the year you guys had the right to be jerks, and you took the moral highroad... You weren't jerks... You were awesome to everyone!

I have a thank you for an IRT staff member...but I'm not sure who it was...

On Saturday I was in the dealer's room looking around, and I saw an IRT guy, with the whole black vest black hat dealie, with short reddish hair coming down the aisle. He saw me, and openend his mouth ( I think just to say hi or something ), and at that exact moment another con-goer came around the corner, knocked into me, and groped me. No, it wasn't an accident. No it wasn't just a "whoops I accidentally brushed past something I shouldn't have while trying to push through a crowded room." It was a definitive and very unwelcomed grope. Yes, I have good reflexes, and my standard response to physical sexual harassment is to defend myself. And I did.

The IRT guy was right there, saw the whole thing, and had the groper go with him to talk to security. The IRT guy didn't admonish me for defending myself, he didn't yell at me, he actually didn't even yell at the groper - he just came in, calm and cool, dealt with the situation, and took the groper to a higher up to be dealt with properly.

So to whoever that IRT guy was, thank you. You handled a bad situation in a good way, and made me feel like I was in fact in the safe place that Acen should be.

I was in charge of keeping the line controlled, and was afraid of yelling. And he was all "Don't worry, they're just people."

I wanna add my thanks to this list because unfortunately the list of gripes and complaints are growing faster then this one. Thank you IRT! I can't say that enough. A lot of us know just how hard you work at what you do, and yes maybe some times you can get a bit short with somebody but that is usually when somebody is short with you and when you have probably only had 4 hours of sleep. People don't seem to understand if you do stupid crap you are going to get in trouble, plain and simple. I had nothing but wonderful experiences with the few IRT people I did come across or have to talk to for something. Thanks for doing an awesome job and please continue to do what you do.

I had no problem with IRT or any staff member I had conversations with a few of them and everyone seemed very nice. The only real IRT issue for me was that there were not enough people to go around.

I want to thank all the IRT staff especially the ones on my shifts. IRT is a big family and they really look out for each other. They had my back and kept me informed at all times. Taz, Flin, Wedge, Artist you were great DH and ADH. Poppa Taz really knows how to handle his team, and it is much appreciated. All the supers sorry don't know them all just the ones i worked with and around alot; Froggy, Mika (Pickles), Fen, Deputy Dog, Devmoni, +1, and Rope not sure if you were a super but you acted like one. Thanks to our dispatchers Hedgehog, Ashberry, Red XIII, Rope, Cherryl, Rabbi, Viper and Shadow (very sorry if i left anyone out). All the ops i worked with on my shift thank you very much. I'm sorry who ever was partnered with me namely Cowboy and The Law. You guys had my back and i wore out your feet/knees. You guys handled it exclellently. And thank you Gofers and other volunteers who worked in and around our teams. You guys worked just as hard as everyone around you and did a great job. Especially Sono you really handled that panel situation well (contact us somehow Hedgehog got her hat back). Also wanna thank my room mates too; Tony, Sage, Ninja and Red you guys were awsome. Finally Medics we couldn't do it with out you ^^ thank you.

I, too, want to thank IRT this year! When I went to get my weapons checked on Friday, the two IRT people I talked to were very helpful, and they even tagged my rifle in a way that the zip tie wouldn't show in photos.

Also, on Saturday night when an IRT member needed me to move out of the hallway after the Masquerade because my enormous costume was blocking traffic, he just asked me nicely. No yelling or ordering -- he just asked, which was ~awesome~ (and made me want to oblige him by getting out of the way as soon as possible). Thank you SO much for being polite!

While the guy who stopped my brother while we were on our way to IRT central to get his sword checked was very rude...

The guy who was actually checking weapons was very nice and made up for it. He even went to hunt down a blue zip tie that would match the handle of the sword. So thank you sword check person on Friday!

well I am a tunnel rat...(guest Escort) and I didn't have alot of contact with people, unless I was in the CC during the signings and panels. I will say that most of the con-goers were polite, and I thank all of you for your kind words. Those who are pissed off are mad because they got caught doing something they were not sopse to be doing. and to the pocky girl...thanks. the small burst of energy helped when i hadent eaten in like 10 hours. and to all the others in the family...ROCK ON!

ACEN would not exist without IRT. Period. The amount of chaos that this many con-goers would cause!? Rosemont would keep the con from returning!

When I was standing in line for the soap bubble, I was near the cross-walk between the hyatt and the convention center. I had noticed all day that there was quite a problem with that cross walk. The Con-goers were crossing at such a steady pace, that the vehicles trying to get through were stuck for several minutes. It was really bad when I was in line, and I saw a few people nearly get hit because they kept being stupid(to be fair, a few drivers were nearly hitting people because of their stupidity...). There was an IRT guy who saw the situation and then jumped into the middle of the road and began directing traffic. Waving cars through, stopping them to get the pedestrians across, etc. I felt he was quite a badass for stepping up and doing a job that frankly NEEDED to be done. One con-goer was not as happy though: when told to stop on the curb so the cars could have a turn going, one guy said "You aren't a f---ing cop!" and jumped into the street and crossed anyway.

I was pretty pissed off at that. IRT works harder than almost any group I know to keep things working. They get almost no love for what they do. If any one of them makes a mistake, if ANYTHING is wrong with the con, people come bitching to IRT about it. They don't need some dumbass getting himself killed in the streets. they don't need verbal insults, challenges or all the other crap they so often get.

I want to send out a special thanks to the IRT staffer who was in the road Saturday night. As a friend of mine put it, "You're a real American hero."

And that's coming from a group of boy scouts!

Not only is that completely stupid and immature, it's dangerous. The driver of the next car is most likely only watching the person directing traffic, not the pedestrians, and therefore would have gone as soon as he got the ok from IRT and could hit any con goer dumb enough to run across anyway.

Kudos to this IRT guy for jumping in and trying to help the situation.
