I see there are lots of rules on not smoking and I dont actually smoke anyway u__u but my cosplay character is a chain smoker so I think having one behind my ear or holding one would really make the character a little more alive. Is there anything against actually carrying the cigarette around if its not lit? Frankly I'm just a little paranoid about everything sooooo yeah better to ask than buy something I wont smoke and just get told to put it away.

Another DH answered a similar question there and suggests a prop cigarette.

I'll also add that we once made a dandy prop cigarette for a Jigen costume out of wire, paper, and a band-aid. Really. We could even crumple it right because of the wire...
There is a slight flaw in my character.

so since i'm the one that asked the question previously, I actually went out to the store (Spencer's joke shop) and I found that they have these nifty fake cigarettes, they look quite real. however, if there is no Spencer's around you, one place to get them is http://www.smokingon...rette/index.htm.

I've cosplayed as Jean Havoc a couple of times and have just used a real cigarette as a prop.

it seems that they frown upon real cigarettes being used as props because there is the incentive to light them and actually smoke or something to that extent.

Cigarettes will be allowed as long as they are not lit.
