Ok, because we've been getting a lot of questions on this I'm posting in hopes that we can clear some things up for you guys.

Pre-Reg means paying the discounted rates prior to the deadlines with an option to get it mailed to you, and the option to mail a check or Money Order.
The reason for this is because Pre-regs generally need to be hand processed (checks and mailing and all that). Also, we like to encourage early membership by offering the wonderful discounted rates.

Express Reg means you're filling out your info online prior to arriving at ACen. Express starts after the Pre-Reg cut off, and is pay by card online or pay at con only. Door rate ($50) and Pick-up at-con only.

Included in our Express Reg this year is the option to purchase One-Day badges. Please keep in mind these are pick-up on the Day Of only. Meaning, you can only pick-up your Saturday One-Day on Saturday.

At-Con Means you wait until you get to registration at ACen to fill out your info. That's why Express is Express, because it's faster when all you need to do is pay.

Also, please remember we take Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
We don't take American Express.

It should be. I believe registration has taken steps to prevent the issues from last year.

I believe it will be more properly proportioned this year. I think the more faith the staff receives, the better they'll be. For '07, I saw SO much skepticism for the newer implemented features. So far, my experience with certain forum staffers (for the con that is) has been much more positive than it ever has been. '05 wasn't so much. I really believe they'll take care of it well this year.

Also on a side note, tons of badges didn't get received on time last year, making the express line way longer than it should have been, not to mention the countless dealings with people who felt outrageous about it. It doesn't look like that will be a problem this year, having them mailed out by Priority Mail and earlier (if I recall). I'm looking forward to the badge

Is this also true for those who paid for the one day badges already? I just thought anyone who did that would just wait in the prereg line whenever they got the time (kind of like it works for regular preregs)

Assuming there is a Thursday pickup again, can Express At The Door badges pick up on Thursday or do they have to wait for Friday?

How do I express register? I went on Acen.org's main page and clicked ont the registration form, but it won't let me submit or fill in any of the blanks... O_o I would love to register - and Im ready to pay today if I have to.

Someone help a girl out?

Actually I finally got the thing to work and filled in all the blanks to register, then I pressed to submit and it told me to create a login account, and no matter what I typed or how, it wouldn't let me... whether it was my forum handle or anything else... O_o It kept giving me a red error screen.

What web browser are you using, and can you copy paste the error in here?

Erm, can you tell me exactly what it was that you were doing? This would help a lot.

As of right now, I'm writing it off as a bit of a fluke, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in tracking it down.

I have a question. So my boyfriend and I have paid for our badges and they're on hold for pick up. So is there a seperate line we can go into to pick up our badges or do we have to pick them at the express line or the reg line? Because this has been pondering on both his and my minds since the last few days.

Since well this is our first con.

And his little sister has to go to reg line? Since she didn't buy her badge or can she go in the express line and have all her information filled out on the forum?

there is the will-call line for those who pre regged online or at previous conventions. There is the express line for those who chose express reg. and there is the registration line for those who are registering at con.

Ok so here is EXACTLY what I did.

I went to the Registration area, where you fill out a form. I want to register and pay so I can take the express line, you see.

SO... I fill out all the information (all the important fields). I can't think of WHAT I did wrong - maybe I typed my phone number wrong? I typed it 111-111-1111 (with the dashes - but with real numbers obviously). Maybe it's supposed to be 1111111111 , no dashes? Other than that, I can't even think of any other error. I filled out ALL required fields.

Then I pressed the button on the bottom to submit and continue on in the process, and I got to a screen that told me to enter a login name and a password twice. So at first I tried my forum handle and password - it would not work. So then I used an email address login that I have (totally different from my forum handle and password). And that's when the error screen came up. And when I DID hit backspace and try again repeatedly, with different handles, different passwords (and yes I made sure to type the same password twice)... nothing happened.

>_< I desperately want to register so that I don't have to wait hours out doors, I would have to go with my little girl (she's almost 2) and I fear it'll be really hot and stuffy and anyone that's had to stand for hours in line with a toddler can appreciate my horror.

OKAY!! I finally got it to work - I did it off a friend's laptop. I guess it must be something with my computer? Sorry for wasting everyone's time, but thanks for the effort.

So, I have a badge number. It says I'm registered but unpaid (okay).
BUT. When I selected full-weekend badge it stated this
"Either there are no badge options for this type of badge or all available badge options have been sold out."
Erm?!
Can I not get the badge then?

Also, how does the badge pick up work then for express? That wasn't very clear.

we are not out of badges. youll need to speak to one of the programers for that though. were you trying to select mailing?

Wait, what? What mailings? No, this is just in the simple registration. When selecting the badge, I got that message. However it still ended up giving me a badge number.
I wanted to check if this was a fluke in the program. Should I just go ahead and pay then?

Also pickup? When? Where? How? You guys gave directions on how to do pay, etc. But not HOW you get your badges when you pay online (express).

for badge pick up at con. there is a will-call line for those who pre regged and paid. an at con reg line and the express reg line. this is found in the rosemont convention center at the front doors of our convention hall. bring your PHOTO ID!!! and your badge number or a confirmation email. with the problem youre having with the system rabbi would be the best person to answer that.

Since I have to bring my photo ID, would it be possible to pick up a friend's badge who would also be registering Express?
She has class until 3 Friday and would be arriving after that.

Because I'm totally confused.

We paid for both of our badges in January. And we're coming early Friday morning (like maybe before 7 am). Is there a possible way for us to pick up our badges in one of the lines. Like the Express Line, Or what? Because I don't want to luck out and not having our badges and pay the fifty for them.

No, what he said is that all you can do regarding registration on Thursday is pick up a badge that's already been registered and paid for. You can still pick them up Friday as well, though I don't think reg is open quite that early.
