Ouran HS Host Club <--> Kyo Kara Maoh. They're very similar, except that KKM has fantasy/fighting elements and most of the important characters are male, including the main character and the most important characters/potential love interests surrounding him.

For darker things, I've only read the manga, but D. Grayman is incredible.
South Korea likes breasts.
Ukraine has breasts.
She has them in spades.
If South Korea and Ukraine were to hook up...
Then South Korea would never have a shortage of breasts ever again.

If you want to try a different anime, I recommend King of Bandit Jing. It's hilarious, has a great plot idea, and full of awesome and loveable characters. The only sad part about it is that it's short, like 13 episodes. But it's 13 episodes of awesome, so it balances out. ^^

Whoever said Higurashi needs to be shot xD; My mind is not yet right from the first act of that show!

Uhm, well right now I'm watching Speed Grapher. A little pervy, but a great show xD; And two of our upcoming guests, Chris and Greg Ayres, are in it!

If you liked Blood+, you might like Wolf's Rain or Death Note. I haven't seen any of those series, to be perfectly honest, but my sister worships all three obsessively.

besides what's already been mentioned, I recommend Black Blood Brothers. It is a decent Vampire Anime with good characters and a few predicatable spots, but not to predicatable.

If you want a retro classic you cant go wrong with Lupin the 3rd. I recommend the Geneon TV series or Castle of Cagliostro (Hayao Miyazaki's first movie!!) Its episodic (for the most part) so u dont need to see it in order. Another great show is Cowboy Bebop. I dont remember anyone saying that.

There's no common theme to the series you listed except that they all air on tv and are pretty popular in the US fanbase.
But if you want to know a good series that's finally getting a ton of attention, check out Welcome to the NHK, manga novel or tv anime, all different but all really good and "basically" the same story concept and characters.

Good point (another reason I only suggested Genshiken) - we'll need a more comprehensive list of series that you like. I suggest setting up an account at anime-planet.com or myanimelist.net and posting a link to your profile, like so, so we can get a better idea of what you may or may not like.
