I recently picked up Universe Sandbox on Steam. Repeatedly smashing the Earth into the Sun is way more fun than it has any right to be. XD

I was playing Bioshock Infinite until I beat it once, now don't have any motivation to play it again. But I picked up Zone of the Ender HD so I'm good for now.

THAT GUN-DAM* STUPID FLUTE STAGE BEFORE THE LAST BOSS IN ZELDA: SPIRIT TRACKS! #@$@#$@#$ #$@#$@#$@#$!!!!!!

-takes deep breaths-

Okay now that I've calmed down, I just want to say I'm at the last boss in Zelda Spirit Tracks. After I beat that, I'm hoping to work on the following:

Luigi's Mansion 2 (purchase with some credit card points), Yoshi's Island (GBA Version), Yoshi's Island DS, finish off Gears of War 3 finally (been sitting on that too long), starting the Silent Hill series, finishing Super Mario Bros. Wii, and getting back to Skyward Sword.

Also acquired recently: Batman Arkham City.

What's your take on the Injustice game? I briefly played the demo at a buddy's house, and I was like: "Oh, it's Mortal Kombat with DC characters." Is it worth buying?

I'm heading into Day 3 on this game. The best combos I'm doing consistently are around 35-39% with Raven, so I'm no expert. I do play a LOT of different fighting games though and host all the competitions out here so here's how I feel...

MK9 was probably one of the best Mortal Kombat games to come out in recent years (I'd dare say overall), but that's really not saying much. MK9 is a broken mess that's turned into a Kabal/Kenshi fest. The game is very jerky, clunky, still possesses that annoying block button, and I really don't care for it (although I spent about six months on it because there were no KOF or SF players around).

All that said, I believe that Injustice is a VAST improvement over MK9. It plays and looks very similar (I'm guessing they used the same engine), but you'll probably be able to tell that it's been "smoothed out." Now this game won't be replacing other recent titles like KOFXIII, SSF4:AE, or SFxT in my heart--not by a longshot--but I do enjoy playing it. They seem to be adapting common tropes found in 2D fighters such as holding back to block (Although holding down, not down-back, blocks low. That was a little strange to me. I can see some cool move buffering block tech coming out of this) and "traditional commands" such as the Street Fighter QCF motions.

If you're a fan of DC comics then check it out. Sit down and give it a couple hours of your time. I think you'll find it to be better than MK9. I don't think it's going to change your mind about Nether Realm Studios and I don't think it's better than the current popular games, but times going to tell how it stands juxtaposed with the other big name titles.

To go back to something I said earlier, the game does play like MK9. This shouldn't be too much of a downer considering if it was waaaay different then they might have risked alienating their fan base, which to their credit is fairly dedicated.

Since my basement is jacked up due to flooding, I've been playing a lot of competitive Facebook games. Such games include chess, Stratego, and Texas hold 'em poker. Quite refreshing to play against people instead of just single player campaigns.

DC vs MK played on a 3D playing field whereas Injustice is strictly 2D. DC vs MK was/is one of the most awful fighting games I've ever played. I used MK9 to set up my comparison, because the games use similar mechanics and because MK9 is actually decent in its own right.

There is blood and "battle damage" in this game, but it's not nearly as gory as a MK title. Joker's intro is surprisingly gruesome considering that this is a DC game, but it's character appropriate.

I forgot to mention that this game has cross-ups! Cross-ups, I say! I'm glad to be of help YoungBirdcall.

Some of my coworkers have been playing Harvest Moon: A New Beginning at my behest. I have to catch up with them.

Hate the block button. Such a dumb mechanic and I'm glad Injustice doesn't have it. My biggest gripe with that game and any Mortal Kombat game is the animation of characters. I don't know what it is but they just down right bother me. Something about it looks stiff and jerky and I cant stand looking at it. >.< The story mode of the game looked pretty cool though! I only played the demo trying to see what kind of crazy combos I can get with Batman doing wall/ground bounces and juggles.

Back when I was only playing MK9 day after day I didn't notice how stiff and jerky the games animations were. I hadn't played a decent fighter in quite some time so it all seemed the same to me. Then I started playing SSF4 versus some very competent players and noticed that even during ridiculous link combos the moves flow so much nicer. Injustice suffers from the same style and it makes everything look almost stop/motion when you're doing a combo.

EDIT:
This is getting kind of off-topic. How about I make an Injustice thread?

Right now I am playing (when I go home from college) Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Okage. Luckily, if the weather is good, my boyfriend is bringing Okage with him when he comes to visit me tomorrow. Even though I know ACen '12 hasn't happened yet, I'm already planning cosplay for ACen '13 (maybe other cons if I get the outfits done before then). I'm planning on cosplaying Princess Marlene and making an Evil King Stan for my boyfriend :D/>

Wow

I have not seen or heard a lot of people play Okage Shadow King! That was my game back in the day. I love Epros and James! I would love to see your cosplay. :)

I am playing Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning....so addicted....
