Still playing DS2:
It's very long and tedious. DS1 felt similar but I did free battles and I had no major issues with the storyline battles. DS2 on the other hand, most of the storyline battles are difficult. The game itself isn't hard but it requires tons of skill cracks and thinking as well as a variety of demons. Beforehand I could just have devil speed or flight and I would be ok, not in this game. Oh this boss is only weak against this one element so you can't have a beatdown party or a whole magic party.
Free battles are kind of boring in DS2 than DS1 but apparently I need a few to get skill cracks that were missed due to "must kill this before it decides to screw me over." The reason why is because free battles in DS1 were hard at times; DS2 they are mostly if not all easy.

In DS1 I had it so if any party is killed I start over the whole battle. Guess how many times that happened because x demon was lucky? It's a lot more than DS1, a lot and I'm only half way done with the game! I'm still sticking by this rule but it's really not that easy.

I can't beat a boss in DS2; enough said. It's a cheapo boss too:
"Hey I have a six range attack AND I can hit you three to four times before you hit me once!"
