Is there going to be a masquerade ball this year?

Just curious, since I haven't heard anything about it.

I've been wondering if they were having it again too.

Cause I definitely want to get my hands on a set of tickets.

Yes, I really enjoy going to the ball every year, mostly because it's a charity event and I get my money's worth out of my prom dress XD

Yes, it's a formal dance (well, formal in the sense that you have to dress up; skill in ballroom dancing is not required though IIRC in past years they have had some quick lessons beforehand)

You pay to attend, and the proceeds go to charity. And it does have a dress code, so like Amunet said it's a good excuse to get your money's worth out of a prom dress, or an excuse to make that -insert princess chara here- cosplay you've always wanted to do X3

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update before I vanish back to do mysterious things :o

So a little birdie told me that they're just working on finishing up one (or was it two?) last things and that it's supposed to be all sorted out by this Saturday.

So let's hope that it all comes to pass! I for one really need to order my tuxedo~~~

I already registered, but I feel uneasy with this way of registering, I don't want to send in a money order or check and find out that the 250 tickets were already sold. Is there way of knowing like a confirmation e-mail to know that we do a spot in line?

Also I have a date, she also registered, are we both guaranteed in since we already registered?

Most conventions when it comes to charity events have a paypal or an online way to pay for, and when that is done you get an e-mail, with a confirmation that you have a ticket.

You are making the assumption that ACen Staff have a logical plan of action....

I hope I'm doing this right...

I agree!

I felt really unsecure once I registered. It's like "Oh gee, all I get is an mailing address. Nothing to print out information or anything?". Like you said, how do we know if he have a set spot for the Charity ball? I want to be guranteed that I have a spot for the Charity Ball, and with information that concures it. Because what if we registered, then things get messed up? What then? No information to prove that we registered, and paid. Who knows maybe we will once we paid, and the payment goes through. Maybe that won't even happen. Like I said, who knows. But I still feel really, and highly uneasy about it all still. I want some sort of security there. I wish they set registration up differently for the Charity Ball. I also wish it just wasn't mail order, also wish they had other options. Also, like you said, that they should of had a coupling option of registration. Because what happens if one gets in, and not the other? Like I said, I'm not to pleased how they did this. But I'll shutup, I think you all get what I'm getting at.

Also, is anyone else completely confused how this forum is set up? It's giving me an aneurysm it's so confusing. To me at least. If it's not to you, then I'm highly special. And I would proudly admit that. :3

Despite no other con having the same amount of yearly screwups ACen has had....It's like the people in charge don't realize that once they get chimps, the chimps don't automatically know how to do cool tricks. It takes years to train them.

Acen has been around for 11 years, they should have got it down by now.

Will I ever get a respond to my question? Its a valid question, and I still have NOT gotten a confirmation e-mail saying I got a spot at the dance. I'm not going to send 15 dollars and not be guaranteed, we may not see that ever again. Like Kelcie said, what if they lost all the info, and we flush away 15 dollars.

Great going guys, can someone give us a good explanation? Acen hasn't even started and there is already problems.

I'm sure there is a good explanation, but still I agree about how its set up this year. We had to give out our emails in order to sign up, so if it isnt already planned, maybe can we get some type of confirmation?
