We had some karaoke last year. Someone brought in a machine and songs, some of us brought our own instrumentals. Can we do it again this year? I think we should aim for it!

I did Karaoke last year. I don't think I'll do it this year. It's a lot of work, I'm already staffing, and I don't think it worked very well last year. Karaoke got a room from Panel Programming last year.

Bwaha, yeah, I'd love to do karaoke, especially if I get cut from ACEN Idol-- I'd want to perform what I practiced anyways, hahaha. XD

DDR and Guitar Hero will be in the Video Gaming room, no need for it's own room. If you want to bring your own system and games into your room and play there, that's your choice.

I guess I wasn't clear before, but when I said I "did" Karaoke last year I mean I hosted Karaoke last year. Organized it, brought in my machine, put together a list, had people put their selections on a piece of paper, and called everyone up, one at a time. I sorry it sucked, one reason I'm not going to host it again. Another reason, too busy. I streched myself too thin last year, one reason Karaoke was bad. I was so tired by the end of ACen, I probably got 3 hours of sleep the entire weekend. I worked the Video Game room and then ran to the room to set up and run Karaoke. We went until 2 and 3am those 2 nights. After Karaoke, I went back to working in the Video Game room. Again, I apologize for how bad Karaoke was last year and be relieved that I won't be doing it again.

Karaoke was fine, I think. Honestly it was! I didn't see anything bad in it! XD

I don't know if I would be able to run Karaoke. IT depends on what time it was. My schedule's pretty tight as it is right now, photoshoots not even included.

I had fun at karaoke last year, even though there were only like 5 other people in the room... XD I really hope someone decides to run it this year, especially since I found out about Acen Idol this year too late to audition (not that I have the materials to allow me to do so anyway...)

She didn't say that there wouldn't be karaoke, she just said she wouldn't be running it. That doesn't mean someone else won't.
Maybe you should be the one paying attention...

That's true. I would LOVE there to be Karaoke. I just don't have the time to run it as I'm staffing, participating in ACen and most likely in a Pump It Up competition (I wish AM would help out a little more). So please, if anyone can run Karaoke and wants to run Karaoke, DO!

Would like to say, Karaoke was always one of my favorite events from ACENs past. back when the hotel had The Forum and you had a real stage, it was fantastic! It seems to have been overtaken by ACEN Idol, which is a shame. Not everyone wants to compete. Some of us just like to get up and sing our hearts out.

It doesn't need a formal set time. Just give us a microphone, a CD player, and a sound system, and let us go at it for a few hours.

Unfortunately we never did receive a request for someone wanting to run karaoke.

My advice to people who want things is to offer to run it. We need people who are willing to do that and there are perks such as a free badge in the matter. The fact is many events at Acen rely on attendee participation.

So keep that in mind for next year.

I'd actually like to compete, but I don't have the materials necessary to audition (ie microphone/audio software).

Its too bad I'm already so booked with the Alley, otherwise I might try doing karaoke myself, but it would be too much. -.-

Karaoke will be held at the car show this year. no specific times have been chosen yet.
