Atten Spammers don't bother putting spam on these forums. Your Spam will be removed and your IP address will be permently blocked.

Trust me. They will keep coming. There needs to be some kind of spam protection on here to prevent this from happening.

How about banning all users who post 4 or more links with the same root website? Here is an example:

http://www.anywebsite.com/AAAA
http://www.anywebsite.com/BBBB
http://www.anywebsite.com/CCCC
http://www.anywebsite.com/DDDD

This is just an example, but the links above (with different websites, obviously) are typical of what I have seen of spammers lately.

What about preventing people with less than X amount of posts from posting links???

I would love to do all those. But I am not an adminastater. I can only get rid of spam. The admins can do other stuff, like blocking IP addys.

Hopefully soon when we get our website person up and running she said she would mod the forums too, so I want her made an admin and we will see if she can get some of this done.

Hey. You should suggest that me and kahad be in charge of spam. Since were the only 2 reporting it and im on the forums daily. :lol: Just check the "never fear span control is here" thread >.< I wouldnt mind be an mod and a spambuster.

Not such a great idea for auto-ban, even if it were possible to do so with this forum software (which I don't know if it is or not because I don't know how it works), because there are some legit lists of links people post :o Such as, for example, a bunch of photos of their cosplay, or photos of another congoer who made a request for photos people took of them.

Anime/manga section? Not sure how they plan to "blend in" their spam posts over there. "FREE VIAGRA!" normally sticks out like a sore thumb, but even more so in the anime/manga section.
