I guess some of the movies out today are cool. And some of them are so bad that you cant believe they were even made ::cough bratz:: But thats not even here or there. I like some older movies like Citizen Kane, 7 Samurai (Anything Kurosawa), the very first Godzilla, Gamera, Night Of The Living Dead, To Kill A Mockingbird, and Its A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (mom got me into that movie and its still funny to this day).

And I love cheesy but good b-movies like Toxic Avenger, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Bride Of The Monster, Glen or Glenda(anything by Ed Wood),Corman Movies, Tromeo & Juilet, MAD (its about meat patties that turn people into zombies. It stars Billy Zane. I have to finish watching it). They really arent bad. You gotta enjoy them. And if you havent seen it check out "Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead" by Troma. Its pretty good too.

Bubba Ho-Tep is my cult fave. Its really good with bruce campbell and Ossie Davis and the soundtrack is great!

So anyone have a fave cult/classic/b-movie that they want to share? I need to expand my collection

The Core; it may not be "classic" but it is most certainly a b-grade Sci-Fi flick.

Every time I visit friends we make sure to get some B-movie schlock for MST3K material. It's always good for a laugh, and sometimes you find a real surprise or two. ("Gangs of the Dead" is surprisingly decent.)

I just watched Gymkata and Showdown in Little Tokyo. They're better than Troma gorefests, but still so laughably bad that you can't help but watch.

I think ive heard of that movie "Gangs Of The Dead." I have not yet seen that movie. A friend of mines has shown me a movie called Zombie Lake. That was pretty good especially the scene where the woman was "supposedly" swimming in a lake but it was a pool. It was made in the 70s.

Roger Corman is my hero... His films are actually quite a step ahead of most films of the type. The Poe films had some Great Atmospher, and his anti Racism film "The Intruder" is among the first (and best) to tackle the issue. Yet unlike other films of the sort, there is nobody in the film who has a moral high ground. Just a man realizing maybe he was wrong, while William Shatner plays a racist social working causing race riots.

And let's not forget his Counter culture films. Gas-s-s is one of the funniest things I've ever seen, and The Trip is the only unbiased drug movie ever made.

I love Lloyd as well, and I'm going to Milwaukee to see his latest opus, "Poultrygeist". Tromeo and Juliet is a special film, though. It has crude, obscene content throughout. It's vulgar and disgusting. Yet it's one of the few films where the romance is that believeable that you never want to see them torn apart. It's probably the classiest piece of filth I've ever seen. It's my personal favorite Troma film simply because of all the heart that is in it.

Many b-films I watch because they are bad. Those ones I watch because they are pretty good.

Yeah, I'd go, but the schedule has too many films I want to see at once. What takes priority? Chopping Mall or Eat My Dust? Deathrace 2000 or Tromeo and Juliet?

I've got one...."The Abominable Dr. Phibes" with Vincent Price is hilarious....but some of the things that happen are pretty sick....I mean if they were to happen in real life. ;) Also, "The Tomb of Ligeia" by Roger Corman (and also stars Vincent Price) was good and sickly shocking at the end too! I definitely recommend both.

As for funnier type movies, everyone should watch "Those Daring Young Men and their Flying Machines." It is soooo funny and is now out on DVD.

I saw this movie on MST3k. It was called "Parts. The Clonus Horror." Aside from Mike and the Bots ripping it, the movie had a very interesting plot about a farm where humans are bred specifically for body parts. It was pretty ethical and suprisingly good. They tricked the humans into thinking that if they do really good they will go to a place called "America." Only they take them to a lab use them for parts. Now the director of the original movie i suing Michael Bey because he stole his movie idea. Bey came to him about making a movie similar to his. His movie was called "The Island." They both had the same resemblence. Except Bey did not give the director recognition.

A good time to watch some great b-movies would be on channel 26 called SVENGOOLIE. It would come on saturday nights. I remember watching him when I was a kid. He showed some good Ed Wood movies on there. Also try and watch MST3k. And if you can find a good ol VIDEO STORE not blockbuster or netflix, youll be able to find some good b-movies there.

Wow, that was a long time ago.

It was a part of some week where they showed movies where the theme was body parts. I think they showed another movie called "The Lurking Eye."

I like classic and B-movies. I have been watching more of the latter this summer, including movies such as "Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes", "Faster! Faster! Kill Pussycat", "The Blob", and "The Day The Earth Caught Fire". Earlier in the school year, I watched "Dragonball Z: The Magic Begins" with my college anime club (on a MST3K-style day).

I'm a big fan of Dracula: Dead and Loving It myself. I also highly enjoy movies such as Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, and Hoodwonked. That's right, I said Hoodwonked. How can you not love that movie?! It even has an overly hyper active and happy squirrel named Twitchy! I am a big fan of the squirrel.
