See, it was licensed a while ago, but VIZ are being a bunch of jerks and releasing a Cease and Desist order against the subbing groups.
I guess I'mma have to wait till Viz gets up to episode 36..

Yeah, Death Note was licensed a long time ago. Viz just finally sent out the cease and desist orders to anyone left distributing the episodes. Viz is doing that download the episode thing from the official website. I don't know how far they are in subbing the series though.

Yeah, I noticed them on the Direct2Drive website. They are up to episode 11. However, I don't plan on buying them as downloads, since I won't be able to copy them to DVD's (unless I happen to have a program to strip the DRM from the files). (In addition, the file size is quite high, too - fansubs are usually around 175 MB, 200 MB, or 233 MB - not 300 MB.)

well....the deathnote series is already completed and subbed. eps 37 is subbed by a group called Ruberia. isn't one of those top subbers, but it's probably gonna be the only one make use of the distribution before it's off the torrents?

Well it looks like you can pre order the DVDs. I wonder when those are coming out. I dont want the eps to take up a ton of space on my PC. Got too much crap on there already.

I was looking forward to the anime, but after the 3rd episode, I went on to the manga and lost interest. I saw the dub a while ago, and now I'm scared for my life. *shivers*

I just watched the last 2 eps from Ruberia and all I can say is...

The last episode was nothing but suck lose and fail. I can't believe it ended like that. How freakin' disappointing.

Dont worry guys. Bleach is on hiatus for a while. Im guessing because they still have a lot of episodes to cover for dubbing and stuff. Its hasnt been taken off the air. But I missed Death Note grrrrr! Ill catch it this saturday then.

it's about time Adult Swim finally got a good anime to air.... well, not counting Cowboy Bebop, of course... and Eureka Seven wasn't bad, but it lost my attention after about 15 episodes.
I never saw Death Note when it initially ran, so now's my chance to finally see for myself if it lives up to the hype.

Yea i saw that as well when i was at work i looked up the official us website and it said something about downloading episodes on there
