How soon can we submit panel ideas for 2008? My friends and I already have a few ideas we want to run panels on.
The hordes of hades all need to ship their dorm rooms home. Right now.
The leviathian has a job that will take 12 hours to run, but they need it in 2.
The four horsemen want to know why my store isn't open 24 hours.

My day's great. How's yours?

That's AWESOME to hear, we actually are working on a new system for submissions RIGHT NOW. Which means we'll need people to test it! ^_^

Once we get it running the way we want we'll point you towards it :)

Early birds, aren't we? ^-^ Well it makes me happy to hear. Maybe these early preparations will make Acen '08 a more enjoyable experience!

and for the record I didn't have many problems with '07, and I loved it so much. My original plan was to just go once, but next year do a 2 theatre camp, but I don't think I can live without Acen now!

Remember, this decision came before I'd ever been to Acen. And I agree. Acen > Theatre.

Despite the ugly circumstances at the time of my panel, it actually ended very fun for me and my fellow last minute panelists and the attendees. It was so fun we might have to extend it to 2hrs next year. That is why I would like to know when will the submissions for panels gonna be cause I am so ready to do this once again and hopefully many more years to come.

Just a note to all panelists. Next time you submit time requests... be VERY DETAILED. By our count we might have not fully accepted 1 or 2 requests out of all our panels. It's because we get very open ended requests:

"I would prefer to have my panel saturday, if not, friday or sunday would be ok"

So by my count, anytime Saturday meets the time request.
I don't mean go crazy, but every year some people will say things about their times like... I wanted later in the day... I'll check the submission, and that wasn't requested.

Just keep it in mind, we're DEFINITELY willing to work with you guys so you get a timeslot that works for you and works for us.

And we do take notes on the panels, the more popular a panel becomes over the years, the bigger the room they get for the future ^_^

one suggestion for the programming on times/rooms
Acen Idol was right next to main programming while they had concerts going on and the music sorta was thumping thru the false walls. Might be something to look into for next years programmingo n timeslots/locations and such. I wasn't one the singers, but i'm sure that they may have had a hard time keeping beat with their own music they were singing to with the concert music's beat coming thru. Just a suggestion for next year also if its possible.

Ya I'll be posting some stuff later maybe we could get some help with.

And ya dave, we've been trying... problem has always been the size of those rooms is hard to get away from, since they are the biggest... Maybe we can pad the hallway with fanboys... they might soak up some of the sound. But ya we do try to keep it in mind XD

I definitely will not be doing my Sudoku panel next year. I had only one person come on Friday night (in the middle of the panel), and about 6 people on Saturday afternoon. On the other hand, both of my sudoku panels were full last year. I had a fun time doing the panels, and hopefully you'll see me on staff next year!

It's good to see that people are already planning panels for Acen '08. I would gladdly help people with panels, but I'd only be 14 by then. I would still like to help someone with their panel.
PM me. I really enjoy meeting new people from Acen. ^o^

Help me choose a cosplay! I am willing to:
Wear a wig.
Get colored contacts.
Crossplay.
Carry around props.
I will not wear anything skimpy though.

I am 5 feet tall, a girl, brown hair and eyes, oh and did I mention I'm pretty pale?

I don't remember there being an age requirement when I've read the panel submission form. It is more or less do you know what your talking about. Though it is kinda obvious for a underage person not to be able to have an 18+ panel ^-^ So really more or less just have a good idea, know what your talking about and it should be fine, don't quote me about it though. If at all send out an e-mail asking. I know for sure Sam/DJFLuFFKiNS is extremely helpful, then is may be just a tad bit off topic; I got to do an interview with him and we touch some stuff that could help you out Found here. So I hope that helps a little.

I do not believe we have ever had a specific age requirement for being a panelist although unofficially I think we really don't get anyone younger than 16 or so who runs one. Often anyone younger than that do not have the organization and communication skills to have an effective panel.

But 17 years old should be fine. We determine a panelist based on their ability to give us a description that tells us where they are going with it and if their idea does not directly overlap with what another panelist has already been approved to do a panel on.

We hope to have the panel submissions for 2008 up relatively soon, so keep in touch with us as we would love to get a nice heap of early submissions (those make us happy! ^o^ )

I'm already excited about my panel for next year and can't wait to apply for it. A friend and I ran the "How to Write a Lemon" panel last year and it was loads of fun.

EDIT: maybe there will have to be a submission form, but it's not up yet.
