But I always thought Fujiko would fall forward if she was a real person...
Ohh & I was perusing the movie aisles at Borders & saw the live action one they did of Lupin... I still need to see it.

And speaking of Fujiko, if she was real, I would bash her head inward. If someone were to rid the world of her, they would simultaneously rid the world of poverty, disease, and war. Plus, excluding a few movies, she has no purpose in the series other than to provide a constant source of fanservice. She was pretty cool in Castle of Cagliostro and Columbus Files, though.
Fwee, I'm such a geek.

I'd love to find some DVDs to get for my friend, though...She misses not being able to see it on Adult Swim.

Its not like I had to find some kind of map to go to the X, dig, ultimitely run across some ninjas who stole the movie and left me for dead on an island, escaped by swimming to the nearest pirate ship, took the crew hostage by sheer force, hunted down the ninjas, stole back the movie, called up the power rangers to fly me back to Chicago, and then finally sat down with the movie.
I just found it at borders.
although i would have preferred to do it the first way.

That the story for the anime Lupin III orginates from an old Hollywood movie from the 1930's?
It's true. MGM released the film Arsene Lupin in 1932 starring John Barrymore and Lionel Barrymore. The story focuses on the capers of Arsene Lupin, who is a jewel thief.

It's like the old time Scooby-Doo. No REAL plot, just pure ol' crack entertainment.
Which is the best kind there is.
My friend and I were arguing over who's better: Goemon or Jigen.
I said Goemon, but I'm partial to him because...he's freaking Goemon.

There may still be legal questions. Lupin is indeed based off of late 19th Century/early 20th Century French novels starring Arsene Lupin, and Monkey Punch never had permission to use the character. It's why some of the old VHS Lupin dubs were titled "Rupan" or "The Wolf" to avoid legal entanglements. To the best of my knowledge, this was settled some years ago to allow the Lupin name to be used, but that was back when there was still a very limited Lupin fanbase outside Japan. Things have changed, so I wonder if the French author's estate is trying to get a bigger percentage.

You got there before I did. Indeed; the Lupin novels are EXCELLENT! My older sister started collecting the classic Lupin novels years ago when we first got into Lupin. She has quite a few of the antique ones and some of the ones that are still in print. If you guys are such Lupin fans, take a moment to read a few at Project Gutenburg:
http://www.gutenberg...authors/l#a1358
Maurice Leblanc's Lupin is suprisingly more like the Baroness Orczy's Scarlet Pimpernel than the anime's dastardly hero/villian, but they are still very well written adventure stories. I suggest you guys take a look/read!!
(On a side note, I never read a story more like the anime Lupin until I read "The White Flower" by Grace Livingston Hill, but I only have a poor antique copy of that and have yet to see it picked up again by an e-text or a publishing company.
